Guest guest
Hi everyone. I have just 3 months left of fabulous insurance so I asked my doctor for a referral for therapy for my wrists ( my bad spot). He sent me to an occupational therapist who is a certified hand specialist (!) and it's been really good and really bad. The bad part is that despite lack of swelling and good xrays so far, I have lost range of motion and much strength in my hands and wrists. I have a whole set of exercises to do to help this which is the good news. She said I would need to do them forever which is good advice but bummed me out because I keep hoping one day to be " normal " . If anyone wants the exercises let me know, though I'm sure they're illustrated in alot of books you have. Best regards,
Guest guest
Hi, . Don't be bummed by the thought of having to do the exercises forever. I've made a lot of improvement with my arms with help of some very good PT's. If the AP gets you past all of your inflammation, you probably won't have to do the exercises forever. I do my exercises pretty faithfully, because I know it is better to be an exercising arthritic than a frozen up one. If I don't get over all the inflammation, my exercises will help keep the inflammation from getting the best of me. Good Luck!
