Guest guest
Hello everyone, Don and I went to register at Babies R Us, wow, how overwhelming...there is so much stuff you need when you are going to be first timers....like I said before, sometimes I feel so clueless. Could anyone give me advice on bottles...there are sooooo many kinds...I am going to try and breastfeed and mix formula in there too.....do you have to use different bottles? Are there any difference really between the different nipples? I know babies grow fast, I shouldn't go overboard with clothes in the beginning, right? Boy, we left feeling so overwhelmed and really need to go back..... Thanks. Take care everyone. ----- Original Message -----
Guest guest
It is very confusing isn't it? I put off on the bottles etc.. until after our breastfeeding class. We are going tonight actually. One thing I found informative was to look up Babies R Us on line and read parents comments on different products. Guest guest
, I know some babies have problems liking their bottles when they are being breastfed also, I saw a bottle set at Target I think, that had like 3 different kinds of nipples in with it, so you can kinda figure out what the baby likes. At the beginning all of my babies took the regular straight nipple in the hospital (well the first two boys anyway) the other two I breastfed for awhile, but once I was home I used the nuk nipples I guess because they matched with the nipple on the nuk pacifier that I used. I don't think you need to go overboard on the clothes either, just get some newborn t-shirts, some sleepers, some gowns, some socks, diapers.... you will get alot of the " cute " stuff as gifts once the baby is born I bet. Whatever you don't have you can go out an buy later too. I love the fuzzy pj's too (blanket sleepers), 's makes one that is like a potato sack that zips up the front, it is one size fits all, and it is like a little sleeping bag. Mikaela is just now getting too long for it and she's 5 months old. I guess when we had Matt we didn't have the bouncy chair (still don't) or exersaucer or a rocking chair for that matter, all we had was a crib and a baby swing and a cradle and we got by just fine. Have fun! Vicki
Guest guest
Pam, It is confusing. It didn't even cross my mind to wait until after breastfeeding class.....(duh) That would be a good idea, huh? I am going to see my dr. next Monday and am going to ask about who do I go to for classes. I know the drs. office offers Lamaze classes but don't know about breastfeeding classes. Thanks. How are you feeling? When do you go to dr again? How is the back pain? I have you and Elle on my mind. Take care. -----
Guest guest
, I think that the type of bottle you use is really just up to preference. Personally, I like the disposable where I can squeeze all of the extra air out of them... whereas one of my friends only used the tilted bottles--which I hated bc it wasn't until I used them with that she got ear infections. See... just preference. As far as nipples... I just used the flat ones that went with the type of bottles I had. Sometimes they have ages on them and there are different types for juice or formula/milk, whatever... just look at those things. As far as the clothes, I don't know if you were talking about registering for them or not but I was told at babies r us that if I wanted to register for clothes wait until a couple of weeks before I'm due bc the stock and selection may change. Hope this helps. Amy EDD 11/8 Re: ?
