,

I would find another doctor to talk to! The docs in the ER or a walk in

place don't want to go over the head of your OB, so maybe it would be best

to make an emergency appt. with another OB to get an opinion. You wouldn't

have to switch doctors if you don't want...but with your symptoms I am so

suprised they haven't officially put you on bedrest!! I think after 30

weeks the baby has a much better chance, but better to keep it in as long as

possible of course!

Let us know,

baby's head pressing on cervix so early?

Hi everyone. Me again with my preterm labor scares. I went to see

the perinatologist again today and he wasn't there.....some other dr

which was disappointing. They were checking my cervix again since I

had that scare 2 weeks ago. Well, they said the cervix looks fine

and doesn't appear to be making change even with all the contractions

I've been having. I told him they were getting worse and he asked

why I wasn't on meds to stop them. I said because my heart rate is

very low and the drugs would make it lower so my OB said no. He told

me he would " leave things up to my OB " but that all the contractions

might not be changing the cervix, but still could be weakening the

cervix and my membranes. I told him I was having the sharp shooting

pains and pressure in my perineum for which he said the baby's head

was pressing my cervix (engaged?). I am only 28 weeks! I feel like

I am in my 9th month. My doctors offer hardly any advice. I think

my water would have to break before they would take me seriously!

Has anyone else heard of or had the baby's head engaged and pressing

painfully this early? I didn't have that until the very end with my

daughter. I am just really worried about preterm labor and they just

dont seem to care. I haven't even been told to rest of get out of

work, but I am doing it myself anyway. The contractions are more and

more and now the pressure pain. But, I hate to run to the hospital

all the time too. Any help or advice is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Thanks for listening to me ramble!

I also get contractions,I am also 28 weeks, but the doctor checked my cervix,

and it is fine, but they sure are painful, and they are true contractons, not

the braxton hicks...I know what you are going through....just try to rest. I

know, easier said than done, my babys head is also real low and I get that

pressure feeling alot, I feel 9 months pregnant and waddle like I am

overdue..hehehe..but just try to rest and hopefully you will stay pregnant a

while longer....
