Guest guest
Pam, Things always do have a way of working themselves out. Guest guest
Elle I have already been making my shopping plans to. I wanted to get my hair colored. We have lactation specialist that will help us to. They will come to the hospital. I'm not sure about our house though. But I know we can meet with them after we leave the hospital. I guess I will find out more from the class. Pam 34 weeks
Guest guest
Elle, Don't worry about the breastfeeding sounding difficult. You'll be surprised just how naturally it'll probably come to you. As far as whether to use hot or cold, I've found that the opinion on what is best varies. When I had Olivia, everything and everyone told me to use hot compresses or take a hot shower. This stimulates the ducts to "let down" the milk and get it flowing, thus relieving the engorgement. This time though, the opinion has changed and they now tell you to use cold. This is supposed to reduce the swelling, thus helping the engorgement. The lactation consultant that I have been talking to since I had Emma said that both are perfectly fine, it is just a matter of preference. I didn't touch a pump until last week. I was told not to pump unless I absolutely had to (just to relieve some of the pressure) until about 4 weeks. You don't establish a good milk supply (how much your body should make to sustain the baby's appetite) until around week 4. If you start pumping right away, on a consistent basis, your body will think that it needs to produce that much milk and you'll be a total milk factory! I hope I didn't confuse you even more with the information! The breastfeeding class sounds like a great idea! {{{HUGS}}}
Guest guest
Thanks Elle I think I am finally at a good state of mind over the c-section. I am just really excited now to meet my little one. This morning I almost starting crying thinking of how long it took me to get here and now I am a day away from becoming a mom. I still can't get over that we are having our babies days apart and both having c-section. Pam
Guest guest
Pam, I am so excited for you sweetie! You deserve this after all you've been through! Countdown time ~ less than 24 hours!!! I, too, think it's so ironic that we had the exact same due date and now we're both having C-Sections 5 days apart! We might have even chosen the same date, except my DH won't be back until tomorrow evening and I wanted to give him a couple of days to catch after being gone a week before the big day. There will be no catching up after that! Take care and enjoy today! Try to get lots of rest! My Dr. told me the more rested you are before a C-Section, the easier the recovery. Knowing I only have a few days left, I have all of these projects I want to get done around the house and I woke up today with a sore throat! Great! Maybe this is God's way of telling me not to overdue and just rest. elle > Thanks Elle > > I think I am finally at a good state of mind over the c-section. Guest guest
Pam, I'm so glad you told me about the fluid in the stomach! That might have scared me to death not knowing that beforehand! My Dr. said that most likely we will be released on Saturday. Fortunately, Friday here is a Mexican holiday, so my DH will be with me tomorrow, most of Thursday, all Friday, the weekend and next week. Then My Mom comes in for a week and then DH's parents come in for a week. So, I'll have help until the first of November. I'm very thankful to have the help, but at the same time I'll probably be ready for everyone to leave too! I bet your so excited to get Belle's nursery all decorated now!!! How fun!!! I'm so glad to hear you are doing so well ~ you have taken a lot of the fear out of me! I'll post as soon as I get a chance, hopefully Sat or Sun. Thanks again Pam for all of the time you've taken to calm my fears! Love, elle > Hi Elle > > I can't wait for you to have your little one tommorrow!!!
