IMHO the diets on the website seem a little arbitrary and even contradictory at times, so I'm interested in how people have adapted them for themselves. My MD's are in the dark about the diet connection and other avenues are not available on my insurance, so I would really like to hear everyone's experiences. >> Here's my experience with diet and attempted weight loss. This isn't to discourage anybody - me included - it is just MY experience. I have been on a low-carb, low-fat eating plan (I'm looking for the right lifestyle change in eating, not a " diet " ) for the past 8 weeks, cutting out sugar, dairy and wheat. My weight loss so far? 2 lbs!! During the first few weeks I had a definite increase in energy and overall feeling. My white blood cell count is high right now and I recently had an infected tooth removed, so I could be feeling the effects of another infection dragging me down right now. (I just had an ASO done, but my lab does not give a specific number, it just comes back " <100 " .) I supplement with acidophilus w/ FOS, a protein powder shake 2x day (I'm a vegetarian), multi-vitamin with extra B, multi-mineral, 2000 mg vit C daily, adrenal support substance, 5htp, vit K and milk thistle tea (for liver detox). I have also been doing aerobic exercising, so it is quite frustrating. For me personally, I think my problem is the prednisone I have been on for 9 years, although I didn't really have weight gain problems until I was given IV Solumedrol (steroid) for my low platelet counts. That seems to have caused a " permanent " change in my metabolism plus the typical steroid-induced redistribution of body fat (under chin, upper back, upper abdomen). I'm 5'3 " and my " average " weight used to be about 140. When I was on high doses of prednisone 9 years ago my weight dropped to 114. It is currently 162. Everyone is different and they key is for each of us to find what works for specifically for our individual bodies. Hi, I didn't know that this could or would happen. Is this common and how long does it take? gloria ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Juno now offers FREE Internet Access!
