I'm having the surgery at 56 - or at least I will be when the surgery is

complete. Best protein shakes by nutritional value are blended whey.

Best tasting are dependent on your own individual taste buds. you can

find samples at http://www.vitalady.com or http://www.wlssuccess.com I

can highly recommend the Proscore 100 choc and the whey stack choc, but

different people have different tasts (every man to their own taste said

the old lady as she kissed the cow).

Trial run??? Nah, not the actual post op diet, because your pouch will

determine a lot. However, if you decide on the surgery, preloading with

protein and vitamins z and working on getting in 64 oz of water a day is

a very good idea. You may well lose weight in advance, and if you're

very heavy, some surgeons require that.

HI ALL. I'M CHECKING IN. THANKS FOR ALL THE GOOD INFO SO FAR. I HAVE

SOME

QUESTIONS.

1. DO YOU THINK AT 51, I'M TOO OLD TO HAVE THIS PROCEDURE?

2. WHAT ARE THE BEST PROTEIN SHAKES? ABOUT HOW MUCH DO THEY COST.

WHERE

CAN YOU GET THEM?

3. WOULD THERE BE ANY POINT TO GOING ON A TRIAL RUN ON THE POST-OP

DIET? I

THOUGHT I MIGHT GIVE IT A TRY, TO SEE IF I COULD DO IT.

THAT'S ALL FOR NOW, THANKS AGAIN...JAN FROM MICH.

> Does anyone know if the fibroid dimensions change where one number

gets

> larger and the other 2 are smaller--for example-------7x4x3 to 10

x2x1-----

The dimensions are usually the width of fibroid in 3 different

directions in centimeters. In you instance, the first measurement

shows the fibroid is oblong in shape as opposed to round like an

orange. The next one 10x2x1 is very long and narrow.

The volume of the first is 7x4x3 times .53(for sphere)= 44.5 cubic cm

The volume of the second is 10x2x1 times .53 = 10.6 cubic cm

So if those measurements are accurate, your fibroid has actually

shrunk to 1/4 of the original volume even though the one dimension is

longer. I think there is also a certain amount of inaccuracy if they

are measuring with ultrasound. My ultrasound showed my fibroid was

7.2x6.5x6.3. Then my MRI, which is much more accurate, showed it was

8x8x8.8. I was concerned it had grown quite a bit in 5 weeks, but

the doctors reassured me it was the difference in the accuracy of the

ultrasound or the measurements could have been taken at a slightly

different location each time also.

So it seems to me that it is quite a bit smaller. Hope that helps.

Chris

Diane Hello, its so nice that you are concerned about your son in law's

condition and to take the time to learn more about PLS. Perhaps in time he can

become a lurker too. Its not easy to admit that we really have this disease.

Hoping you have a happy Holiday and a great New Year..............Flora

Well following this, I would try a TINY T3 raise, only 1/4 tab

OK Val, I will try this.

What made you change your mind? from what you were thinking earlier i.e. to

reduce the T3?

Basically your palps were better on a higher dose but it sounds as if

some receptors opened and you do to need AS high as you were, but

_*some*_ higher than you are now.

I'm not sure if I understand that Val but maybe it is me, I am not in great

shape and have been unable to leave my home all day, poor doggie is not happy

but what can you do?

The palps only stopped, I think, when the h/c came down to 22.5 but I had

been on 4 tabs T3 since the day before that which was the 22nd September.

Then they started up again last Saturday when I had a very stressful day

though I noticed the tightness in the chest for a day or so before that.

Do you still think the palps were better on a higher dose?

I know hypo is just as liekly to cause palps than hyper. Try a tiny

increase and if no better then go back down, & lower cortiosl a bit

Ok Val, will give it a shot.

I will go back on 20 h/c tomorrow and will let you know how I go.

Thanks so much for your help, a problem shared and all that.
