Guest guest
I knew I could count on all of you for help. I had an EMG and MRI of the brain and spine last year. I don't know if another MRI of the brain is needed, but I'll ask. The spinal MRI showed the cervical cord compression and also stenosis in the lumbar spine. However, the neuro said it was below the spinal cord and would not affect my walking. All that's missing is a spinal tap, which my current neuro didn't think was necessary. However, I don't think he has a clue about PLS. I've written to Flora in St. Pete about going to her neuro and MDA clinic. I live across the Bay near Tampa. Is there anyone out there who lives in the Tampa area who uses a neuro he/she is happy with? I found the comments about Baclofen interesting. I just started taking 5 mg in the morning, in addition to the 10 mg at night, and find myself getting so sleepy in the early afternoon. If I force myself to stay awake, I end up falling asleep in front of the TV about 8 p.m. Can only 5 mg. do that? I am very sensitive to most medications. I've printed out several of your replies. I'm also waiting to hear from the neurosurgeon who performed the surgery in July. Then I'll decide what my next step should be. Thanks again for your help.
