Guest guest
Hi Gemma, Sorry I am just getting back to you now. Yesterday was 4 weeks for me and I would say at 3 -3.5 weeks I was walking normally. I went to the mall after a week and a half on Black Friday but only walked around once and it was very slow. I am at 4 weeks now and I feel basically back to normal, luckily. I am going back to work after 6 weeks on 1/2/03. You asked about postoperative pain - For me it wasn't THAT bad - I was worried about it also. I wondered if I would wake up screaming but it wasn't like that for me. It was just like bad menstrual cramps. I had the pain meds and I made sure that I used them. I took Percoset at home for approx. 1 week - mostly at night before bed. That was about all that I needed. So far so good for me - I don't really feel any pain at all anymore. Hopefully it will stay like that. I know everyone's experience is different and it depends where your fibroids are and how much of the uterus they have to cut. I consider myself pretty lucky in that I had a pretty good recovery (hardly any pain) and fairly quick. My only issue was that I developed a rapid heart beat. They said it is back to normal now but I have a follow up with my family doctor tomorrow. Hopefully all is back to normal. I still haven't looked at my incision yet I'm afraid of how big it is - it might scare me to know that I was cut like that. I just prefer to forget about it. I " ll check it out sometime when it is healed more My doctor said it was healed pretty well at 2 weeks. I started driving on Monday and it felt fine. Today I decorated my grandfather's Christmas tree. Good Luck in your decision making process and feel free to email me with any questions.
