Guest guest
I bet all that buffet food had tons of sodium too. You'll probably see a bigger loss next week. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! Luanne
Guest guest
With all this talk of plateaus, I thought I'd add that I might be on one myself. Not quite sure. Here's my recent weigh-in history... 11/22 190.2 11/29 189.2 Down 1 Pound 12/5 189.8 Up 0.6 Pounds 12/13 189.6 Down 0.2 Pounds So, a total loss of 0.6 pounds in 3 weeks (or 0.2 pounds per week) - does this constitute a plateau? I saw some movement on my home scale this morning, so maybe its' breaking????? I'm looking back at my weeks leading up to these last three weigh-ins. 11/29 was right after Thanksgiving - which was a very focused week for me. I used 19 1/2 flex points that week (including just 4.5 on Thanksgiving day) and mantained my regular workout schedule. That 1 pound loss came on the heels of a larger loss, so it was a good thing. The week leading up to the 12/5 weigh-in, was the week where I had my emotional upheavel on Sunday (11/30) and used up all my FP's for the week. I was extremely focused the rest of the week and just ate my points target + my usual APs. I had to weigh-in a day early because of an impending snowstorm, and this is when I was up the 0.6 pounds. Last week, was my trip to Las Vegas. I was travelling with one friend/colleague to a conference. Saturday (before I left), I did fine (it was a snow day, so we had a fun day with the kids inside the house and in the backyard with the sled). Sunday was a tough day (the extra hours associated with travel/time change are always tough for me), but I managed. Sunday night, in Vegas, we went to one of the casino restaurants - where I did a cup of New England Clam Chowder (a little bit of an indulgence) and a grilled shrimp caesar salad. (I had done so well on the plane trip, that my 17 point dinner only had me using 2.5 FP's for the day). Did fine on Monday too, as I " begged " off a big dinner to go to the spa for a massage (wonderful).... I couldn't leave my buddy by himself for dinner all week though, so we were together Tuesday and Wednesday night. Tuesday night, he suggested that we go to the hospitality suites the conference vendors were hosting. This turned out to be a lot of fun. One suite had an Elvis impersonator, another had a folk singer doing Jimmy Buffet tunes, another had a " taste of Italy " motif. We had dinner courtesy of all the buffets - I filled up on salad & fruit, a couple of small spring rolls, a pair of chicken & vegetable kabobs and a bunch of shrimp. But it was still a 19 point dinner and I wound up using 7.5 FP's for the day. Wednesday was equally tough, as we wound up at the seafood buffet for dinner before our red-eye flight home - another little of a lot of things added up to 16.5 points for dinner and the use of another 8 FP's for the day. All-in-all my 4 days in Vegas cost me 19.5 FP's. On the bright side, I got all my workouts in - and I brought my own breakfasts (Kashi w/ nuts & raisins) and snacks along with me. Thursday and Friday I kind of stayed in my Vegas pattern from Tuesday & Wednesday - not Off Program but making generous use of flex points .... Used my remaining 15.5 these two days - and didn't work out at all.... So, that took me to Saturday and my 0.2 pound loss. So, maybe this " plateau " is associated with two straight weeks of eating every last one of my flex points. This week I'm determined to get back to my routine of eating only 20-25 of my FP's. Now, in a previous post, I described my Saturday evening " vapor lock " at dinner, so I'm already behind the 8-ball, but I've been back on the treadmill and I'm focused, so I'm hoping for a strong week eating at or below my points target + APs and hopefully the scale will move again on Saturday.
