Hi, everyone! Went for my appt today and it was kind of interesting I guess. There was a student nurse there so I was listening to them talk while listening to the heartbeat... it was interesting... Anyway, my b/p is starting to play games again it seems, it was 120/90 on first check but after laying on my left side it went down to 120/70. I'm used to this, had to do it at all of my last trimester appts with also. My weight... I'm back down 2.5 pounds. I was kind of worried bc I thought the fluctuating weight might be a problem for the baby, but my dr assured me as long as it's not 10 pounds I'm fine losing occasionally. Can you believe that first I was worried about how much to gain and now I'm worried about having lost? I'm not really worried about myself, it's just I thought losing weight at this point might be a bad thing for Little Bit. Anyway, it's not so that's that. He did an u/s in his office to check my placenta bc he had to do a pelvic. He says my placenta is slightly low, but not at all a problem. It's basically at the highest point it can be while still be considered low. Anyway, the pelvic was to check my cervix. I was worried about the back pain and cramping so I mentioned it, but my cervix is still closed. He thinks the cramping might be stretching but can't say 100%. The only thing he did say is that he doesn't think it's a problem. However, I'm starting to feel like maybe the symptoms I'm having are the same from when I got dehydrated so I'm drinking tons of water. The backache and cramps come in waves, and always together. All I have to say is that if they aren't gone by Friday I'm calling to get it checked again. I figure if it's dehydration I should be getting better by then. Anyway, u/s also showed that Little Bit is still under three pounds, he says she's growing right on track (but he could neither confirm or deny that she is indeed a she... positioning was bad). After all of that excitement we went into his office and discussed my labor options. He made sure I knew all of the risks of VBAC (including the studies that just came out) and the few of a repeat c-section. We discussed 's weight and what it might mean for this baby (most likely 9-10 lbs, it goes about .5 lb either way from previous). I asked if her weight could affect my labor or increase complications of a VBAC. He says the only way would be that larger babies tend to result in labors that don't progress properly. If I do VBAC, I have to go into the hospital as soon as I think labor has started and be monitored from beginning to end. He also will not induce me if I go past 40 weeks bc of the increased risk of the induction meds and c-section, so when I get to 40 weeks we'll be scheduling a c-section anyway for some time that week anyway. If I chose to skip the VBAC attempt then we'll schedule for 39 weeks, which would be Nov 1 (maybe a day earlier or later depending on scheduling). The bright side to that would be is off on the 1st for All Saint's Day and probably the 2nd also. My mom would be able to plan to be there for that day, instead of having to wait until I go into labor to tell them at work she needs to be off. And of course, the KNOWING what day I'd have her on would be nice. But I'm still not entirely sure that I want to do another c-section if I don't want to. would like to try the VBAC, but the planning part sounds so nice to me. But, I have two weeks to decide. (How am I supposed to make this important of a decision right now? I haven't even decided on a name yet!!) Anyway, I think that's about all that happened at today's appt, don't think I'm forgetting anything... On the bright side, I went to the hospital and preregistered today...
