They did a sknin biopsy this morning before they left the hospital andthey will get the results of that in about 3 weeks. Amie said they sent them home on 5 different meds and she will tell me what they are when they get home later. I think Amie and her husband are feeling better just knowing they are bringing Audrey home. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks to everyone for all of the prayers, I know they helped!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest Posted December 20, 2002 Report Share Posted December 20, 2002 Kathy, Cameron has a g-tube so when he is in that state I pump him slowly with pedialite and we can keep his bs and hydration under control so I have luckily avoided the hospital for 18 mo (since g-tube placement). He has not had any detected seizure activity so that may be why I can keep him home. It is like a hospital here with me as the fulltime nurse LOL. I monitor temp, fluid etc. and keep his ped updated. We are only 7 minutes from hospital so if things got out of control I could get there fast (5min). I hope she can come home. Motrin helped Cam with the fever. He also developed a rash after the fever FYI. Take care and do keep us updated. Again, Aimee is so lucky to have you so that she can attend the Christmas program. Finally got the nasty throwing up bug that her brother has had three times. But we kept him in a separate room the whole time. Our ped is wonderful, too. He doesn't question us when we say this is how many times she has thrown up. They keep track of her. He even called me to let me know he was admitting (and these are his very words) your little princess in for an IV to fill her up. He saw the color of her vomit and said, yup, she's on empty. And our arrangment here is my husband always stays with her in the hospital. Good thing we are only two miles from the hospital. My husband said there have been many residents coming in to see Leah because they wanted to see this " case. " So my husband is doing a little educating on mitochondrial disease even though Leah isn't a confirmed case of mito yet. But she is perky and laughing with me and finally took a bottle. If she keeps liquids in her ok and keeps taking liquids, we can bring her home tonight. Hope everything works out ok for Audrey. By they way, I was wondering with everyone what lab work ups does everyone get? Our ped always checks lactic acid and I'm sure white cell count, but was wondering if there are any standard testing he should be doing whenever Leah is admitted like this? Urine, etc? HOpe every one is almost ready for the holidays and may we all stay healthy. My husband said there have been many residents coming in to see Leah because they wanted to see this " case. " So my husband is doing a little educating on mitochondrial disease even though Leah isn't a confirmed case of mito yet. But she is perky and laughing with me and finally took a bottle. If she keeps liquids in her ok and keeps taking liquids, we can bring her home tonight. Hope everything works out ok for Audrey. By they way, I was wondering with everyone what lab work ups does everyone get? Our ped always checks lactic acid and I'm sure white cell count, but was wondering if there are any standard testing he should be doing whenever Leah is admitted like this? Urine, etc?
