Guest guest
I could be wrong, but I think all of this, including the spacer and the " Neff " nail, had to do with the knee arthroplasty, so the femorotibial nail system probably would fit, right? I don't think they were talking about the arm, were they? I may have missed an email, though, as I don't always read through every single one with the same subject line. ) Joy Deb, > >Don't know about the antibody part.....never heard that before. And someone said they found it in the Stedman's Equipment words. In the Stedman's Equipment Word book under nails, there is no listing for Neff. BUT, if you look up Neff, one of the references is, " femorotibial nail system " , but is that what you look for? Anything that has the word " nail " in it? If the Dr is operating on an arm, he wouldn't use a Neff nail, because femorotibial means in the leg, right? I am a student as most of you know, and it seems I get more confused the further I go. I thought this course transcription would be easier as it draws toward the end, but it seems I am getting more frustrated instead. _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses. Guest guest
, I think you probably just missed reading part of the first post. She was doing a report on a knee. That's why this seemed to fit so well :-). Hope that helps clear up your confusion! It's GREAT, by the way, that you're looking this stuff up. It's the best way to learn! S. Guest guest
Hi . Sorry my question got you confused. Perhaps, you did not get my first post. I was doing a surgery on the knee. Just hang in there. The training is hard. Even though it was many years ago for me, I still remember the frustration I felt some days, but it will pay off in the end. Guest guest
I guess my confusion is that Neff is not included under the nail category. So does that mean, since it was under Neff that it would only be used in the leg/knee area? If I had that dictation, I am afraid I would have looked under nails only, and not finding it there, would think I was not hearing the word right. I may have not looked under Neff itself. I have a lot to learn! I know that, but this list certainly helps. I try to look up just about everything you ask for, if I have the proper reference. This was a good lesson, in not just looking up one heading. ) Thank You,

Guest guest
, You've probably just learned one of the best lessons every MT should know (but not all do!). Not only do I look up every possible heading I can think of when I need to find a word, but I also look in several books. For that one, for example, I also looked in Stedman's Orthopedic book and Tessier's Surgical Word Book--under both headings! You're going to make a great MT if you keep up with what you're doing in a persistent manner. :-) S. Re: confused I guess my confusion is that Neff is not included under the nail category.
