I have been laying low lately and trying to get more energy. I am 12 weeks,5 days and we have an u/s and doctor's appt. scheduled for Friday. I can't wait! I can tell the twins are growing that is for sure. I have been busy and tired so that is why I have not been posting much. I know you all understand. Take care and I will post after the appt. AmyH, I am glad to hear Fozzy and Wozzy are doing so well!! Congrats on going into your 2nd trimester, that is great!! I hope you are able to find out the sex next time around too!! 28wks Update Ladies-I promised that I would update you and I just am getting around to it. I had a doctor's appt. and u/s on Friday and everything looks great! Fozzy and Wozzy were quite entertaining and we really enjoyed seeing them. I was 13 weeks on Friday and they were so active. I can't feel them yet so it was great to see them moving, waving, opening the mouth,etc. Baby A seems to be the live wire and Baby B seemed to take some prodding to really get going. We will have to wait and see if this is reflected in their personalities later. They are perfect on the size and weight so the doctor is pleased. I think that it is now sinking in that they are really there and growing. People at work have noticed my tummy that is for sure... Now for the second trimester I need to get lots of stuff done. I hope that when we go in 4 weeks we can see the sex of my two little people. OMG Joy!

I'm glad to know you are trying to get your records through an attorney. What a

JERK that doctor is for not giving them to you.

What if there is something he knows that can help your baby?????

Makes me so darn mad.

I'm so sorry to hear that he's being such a pr@#% !

Let us know when you finally get the records what exactly he is trying to hide,

because obviously its something.

Congratulations on your pregnancy !! As for the OB's office not

forwarding records I know this first hand. Mine refuses told me to get a

" court order " if I wanted it! Now this is a man who's left being an OB and

is still a GYN, and I loved his care.. until he almost killed my DD!! I had

2 very highrisk pgs with a stillbirth and he refuses to send the info to my

new OB (and we're now having another heart defect problem again all the more

reason for him to send them)... sending letters to him via a Law Firm now!

I live in another state and the records are archived, I have called

at least once a week for the few months, it gets tiresome, so now I

have just let the new OB's office handle it.

Dear hippies,

decided to write this update just to provide some more info to the ones that

are about to do the surgery or just thinking about it. keep in mind that I

did go into my surgery with zero cartilage left in both hips, but until the

day before my resurface, I stayed very very active, riding my road and MT

bikes and using non-impact machines. It is not like running about 70 miles a

week, but still pretty good. So I did feel in great shape.

Here is the chronology of the events: 5/12-right hip done, 5/14-left hip

done, 5/18-came home from hospital, 5/20-returned to work ( I am a professor

so it is a sitting job, but did teach a class the following night, again by

sitting down mainly), 5/22-started to drive on my own (my wife's

mini-van=higher seat), daily walks w/ crutches of about 1 hour + pt by

myself and some light weights while sitting down, 5/24th-walked a mile on

the track, 5/25th-walked 2 solid miles mainly flat and grass...During this

1st week home, first few days I would get a light fever (around 100) in late

pm hours and did sweet a lot while asleep; also, my but was fairly swollen,

both sides, and eventually the swelling migrated south towards around my

knees and ankles...try to lay down w/ your feet up (good stuff).

5/26-swelling is getting much better (probably all that sweating while

sleeping and gallons of urination) and walking is getting stronger and

faster; 5/27=did teach a new night class for about 4 hours and felt very

good (standing and sitting); 5/28-2 weeks post surgery-need less and less

outside help, back driving my WV Passat, walking and doing exercises; no

more pm fever, selling is almost gone, no pain, but left hip gets tight

(stiff) if I sit too long and left leg is much weaker from the right one.

Overall, I am very happy with my progress. I wished that I never had to do

this in the 1st place, but with my problems (hip dysplacia and many miles of

running + tennis), I really consider myself a lucky one. Imagine that we did

not have this option of resurface?! 10 years ago I would be heading towards

wheel-chair. I, at 36, did not consider a THR as an option. So, this is my 5

cents and hopefully it will help somebody out there in this decision making

process.

Sounds like you may need Neulasta or Neuprogen for your white cells.

A resource some of you might not have thought of is to check with your church

to see if there are RN's or LPN's willing to give you your shots. This sure

beats doing it yourself or having to give it to your loved one. The main

advantage being that the person is trained.

It irks me no end that an EMT cannot BY LAW give these injections

but insurance expects us with no experience at all to start injecting

ourselves!

Many churches have a visiting nurse program if you give your local church a

call I'm sure they'd be willing to help.

Dear (Sara)? I too am a doubter, though not agnostic, but I would

hope that the nurses in the church I belong to would help any

community member/neighbor as long as it was in their range of

skills. I would be badly dismayed if they did not. Yes, there are

some 'exclusive' churches, existing to serve their own congregations

only, but I would bet you have friends, co-workers who can connect

you/loved one with help. That's the cardinal word: connect.
