Dear Carol, My prayers are, indeed, sent your way. I leave in the a.m. for the

trip to Seattle with my daughter. I celebrate for two reasons. 1) this 17 years

old girl was diagnosed with a severe heart condition where her heart simply

stops. We have had some scarey times this past nine months. So I celebrate

that

she is well enough to make the trip to go be honored for her special voice. and

2) I celebrate that I am well enough to accompany her on this trip. I am almost

totally out of my sinus infection in my lungs and my arms and legs feel great.

So this is a wonderful week of one on one with a very special daughter. BUT, I

do not forget those of you who have supported me so very much while I am gone

and

I will make sure I say my prayers for you to come safety through this journey.

I

will be anxious to learn how you are doing when I get back Monday night. It

will be withdrawl for me while I am gone! Love and health to you, Carol and all

my onelist friends. Fain

Carol*, I have had a colonoscopy three times. I was given a sedative the

first time and fell asleep. The second time I was awake, but only felt

sensations of movement. The third time I was out again. Is there not

something else besides demerol that they can give you. I am not sure of the

name of the stuff they gave me but I do no that it was not demerol.

Relaxation is also very helpful. If you are too tense then the procedure

might be unpleasant. HTH. Carol/Piney

I dont know anything about C. Difficle but I do know that one of the

most common ways to get septicemia is by getting staph into your

bloodstream through an IV needle. I wont have one again if I can

possibly avoid them. When I got it I felt like i had bad flu that

would hit for 4 or 6 hours then let up for that long, then hit again

untill it was super bad. I shook all over violently and I know I was

delerious and lucky to have survived it. Now I will always be about a

hundred times more likely to go septic from an infection than a

person who has never had it. IV's arent to be taken lightly!
