Guest guest
Wow...it is so strange to hear from people that have the same problem as I have. I am new to this list serve and I hope to find support and helpful information and I also look forward to sharing anything I can that may help others. Jen, your story sounds similar to mine except for the fact that I am still researching my options. I am 33 years old and I have been dealing with this fibroid/endometriosis thing for years. However, the past 4 years have been outrageous and the past 1 year has been almost totally debilitating for me. I bleed so much sometimes I can't go anywhere but straight to the bathroom. This past episode was 4 weeks of straight bleeding. The clots are the size of my tampons or larger and I have no control over this issue. I need to constantly go to the bathroom every 10 - 15 minutes and once I am there I can't get off of the toilet for sometimes a full 1/2 an hour!! No lye!!! I have been so very stressed from all of this, trying to hold down my new job of only 2 months and it is getting to the point to where I think I may need to make a choice about whether or not to keep my job. I cannot begin to tell you how devastating this situation has been for me. I want to work, but I cannot work in this condition. I am only 33 years old and do not want to go straight for the hysterectomy if not absolutely needed. But what can I do??? I just had a Laporoscopy / Histeroscopy / D & C in August and I have done almost 5 months of the Lupron injections to no avail. Actually since the surgery and the Lupron injections, my cycles have gone from 2 weeks to almost continually bleeding every day. I have had about 2 weeks off from bleeding since August. I take Chromagen 400 mgs a day to replace the lost iron and I am always severely anemic which as you all know has it's own lovely side effects to contend with. I am married to a wonderful man who is so patient and caring...but it is putting a strain on our relationship if you know what I mean. So anyhow, I guess I am not sure what it is I am looking for from all of you...maybe I am just needing to vent to someone who really understands the problem, maybe I just need to hear how you all deal with it? I am trying to get into the University of Michigan to see a specialist but they cannot get me in until February. What are my options?? Does anyone know? What are things I should be checking into? Thank you so much for anything you can offer on this. I will write more later when I have more time. Anxiously waiting... Bleeding was not one of my problems but he said that he had been able to help women who had problems with bleeding or pain from fibroids. Have you checked out any naturopathic or oriental medicine doctors in your area to 'tide you over' until you see a specialist in February?
