Guest guest
Ok, I give. I have no idea what HOUSE is, and what network it's on or when. Can someone please enlighten me? ________________________________ From: SillyYaks on behalf of Sonja Flockhart Sent: Fri 2/24/2006 8:20 PM To: SillyYaks Subject: House I am sorry I have deleted the original post, but can whoever posted that please share more info on where you heard about CD being on HOUSE? I love that show, and since it first started, every week I tell my hubby that they should put my story on that show! I know it may be a while, but I can't wait to see it! That would be some awesome exposure for CD. Sonja ________________________________ Yahoo! Mail Bring photos to life! Guest guest
I have to say I had never heard of it either until this thread. Then I'm scanning channels last night and stopped on Letterman, and his guest was Hugh Laurie the host of House. I guess it is on Tuesday eves on Fox. It's a doctor diagnosis show and is (somehow) hilarious. We learn all SORTS of things on this list. Sue in Denver > > Ok, I give. I have no idea what HOUSE is, and what network it's on or when. Guest guest
Bridget... It's on Fox...usually on Tuesday nights, but they sometimes move it around. I know you like sarcasm, and because of that you'd probably love the irreverence and downright rudeness of this doctor sometimes! We love this show...even if it usually just shows how not to communicate with others! We never miss an episode.. C
Guest guest
It always amazes us how Hugh Laurie can completely disguise his English accent in the show, because there is absolutely no hint of it when he is Dr. House. C
Guest guest
In case you're in California, or that time zone, someone told me that " House " is on Monday evenings at 8 pm. This is only hearsay, I'll check my TV Guide when I get it, and post what I see there. I think we should all watch it, and when the episode does air, we should write to the producers thanking them for helping to let the world know about Celiac Disease! BJ > > > > Ok, I give. Guest guest
I'm looking forward to seeing how many times the team will kill, nearly kill, or kill-and-revive the poor CD patient before the final diagnosis. It'll be pretty much like real life, IMO! I mean, I lost count of all the nasty stuff and tests I'd been through in the last 20 years before we FINALLY found celiac. Let me remind you - one of my doctors said " You're not sick enough for celiac " . I would nearly wet myself if I hear one of House's team say that to the CD patient on the show!!!! (Everything is funnier when it happens to a fictional character than when it happens to US!!!!! Agreed? Agreed!) > > I think we should all watch it, and when the episode does air, we > should write to the producers thanking them for helping to let the > world know about Celiac Disease! > > BJ > > The Monday night airing last week is supposed to be an anomaly. It's normally on Tuesdays on Fox. Monday's reserved for the other show with a cult following: " 24 " . :-) (Remember: Spiderman wears Jack Bauer PJs, and you're only conscious right now because Jack doesn't feel like carrying you. :-) ) Wonder if my own doctor wears " House, MD " PJs. My own doctor has an ascerbic wit like House, so I think the writers of the show must go to my doctor. :-)
Guest guest
The doctors told me that my son was " too big and healthy to have celiac " . I was always sooooooooo tempted to call them each night while he screamed from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m., laying in his bed rocking and holding his tummy for eight months straight and ask them if he at least sounded like he has celiac! Guest guest
It'll probably be the heart donor they have to diagnose before using the heart in the mad being treated (coming up). After all - how sexy a treatment is being given a list of what not to eat? > -----Original Message----- > > > I'm looking forward to seeing how many times the team will kill, > nearly kill, or kill-and-revive the poor CD patient before the > final diagnosis. Guest guest
It was on Monday evening last week, but it's usually on Tuesday nights. I am in the Central time zone and it's on at 8:00 here. Where did someone here about the celiac thing on there? Is there some way that we can find out when it's going to be on I wonder? > > > > > > Ok, I give. I have no idea what HOUSE is, and what network it's > on > > or when. Guest guest
I read on another forum several weeks ago (can't remember where, though!) that the House/celiac episode is just a rumor, nothing more. It would be nice, though! C
Guest guest
I usaually watch it every week. I was so upset this week that I missed it. Guest guest
---HI again - Just got back from a wonderful support group meeting. One of our members had an idea to have a panel discussion, so we had a lady who likes to cook and bake, me who likes to travel and dine out, and a dietician (RD), and the lady with the idea was the moderator, We answered questions for over 2 hours, and it was really fun! I looked up " House " in the TV guide, finally, and in Calif. and that time zone it's on Monday nights at 8 pm on Fox, channel 11 where I live. I'm going to watch it, even tho it may just be a rumor that they're going to have an episode about Celiac Disease. I had to laugh when someone here thought the star hides his accent! He doesn't, he assumes an American accent. He doesn't think he has an accent. Funny isn't it? It's all in the perspective. Oh, how I feel for you people who are going through this gluten challenge. There is no way in the world that I would eat gluten again. Not even to have an endoscopy. About 1/3 of the celiacs in the US are self-diagnosed, and that is probably the reason why. They feel terrible, they cut out gluten, they feel better. The dr. says " eat gluten so we can do an endoscopy and confirm the diagnosis " , the celiac thinks " the heck with you " and stays on the g-f diet. That's what I'd do. I am really enjoying this forum, laughed alot the couple of days everyone was talking about McD's fries. I believe it has turned out that the formula hasn't changed, but the law has changed, so now McD's must admit that they've been putting the fat from wheat into the fries to make them taste good. I hope it won't change the way celiacs eat, they're still g-f, always have been. The fat isn't where the gluten is. BJ In SillyYaks , " nn " wrote: > > I usaually watch it every week. Guest guest
I had a hard time watching this show at first because I have been a huge fan of Hugh Laurie and British television/movies for many years and I could not get past his American accent. When they first started promoting the show I was very excited and then I watched it and was trying to figure out why he was talking funny. I have worked through that bias now since my husband TIVOs it every week without fail. When I was in London last October, I noticed that they like it there too. It is also amazing that the vast majority of his work up until now has been comedy, very different from House. And, he is definitely British.
