Guest guest
Good for you, Norma!!! I can see you are really going to form a good habit! On the heel issue, DIANNE....this morning when I went into my second mile my left heel started to hurt. I made sure to stretch it out really good, but it feels bruised....any suggestions???? Guest guest
Good luck! I admire fast walkers but hate walking with them :-) In a message dated 3/23/01 9:28:25 AM Eastern Standard Time, lambart1@... writes: > By the way.... Guest guest
That is great Norma! I am getting ready to go walk right now as I have a busy day ahead of me. I have my pedometer on, so I will see how I do. Yesterday was great " walking wise " . I used the pedometer between 10 am and 6 pm and walked 10690 steps. 2000 of those were because I walked to work in the morning ( I don't work at this job every day) I took a 4 mile walk in the afternoon because the weather was great ( sunny and mild). I think it will be difficult to do that many steps every day. By the way.... I am training for a walking race at the end of May. It is a little over three miles ), so this would be a good chance to improve my speed. My race in the fall is over 5 miles ( My (big) kids have been hanging out with their friends at our home in the evening lately and I can't get near the computer. Guest guest
I sure wish I knew the answer Joya. I have been experiencing quwerky aches and pains in my legs and feel lately. I have tried lacing my shoes differently. Do you walk on a very hard surface? My DH refuses to jog on asphalt. Perhaps you should slow down if you start to feel pain. I hope it is ok..... Guest guest
.. > I have tried lacing my shoes differently. > Do you walk on a very hard surface? > My DH refuses to jog on asphalt. Yes, I walk on the street...and it has uneven spots because people here mix the concrete on the street when they do construction and then don't clean it up well. So am always careful cause I am afraid of twisting my ankle. I got these shoes in October and I hope they aren't too old already!!! I will join the pedometer challenge on Sunday or Monday. Guest guest
shoes are only good for about six months if you use them regularly. Mine are a year old now, without as regular use as you get, and I think they have to go. It's a shame cuz they look fine and I still think of them as "new". Besides that they were expensive. But they are walking shoes and I think I need running shoes if I am going to be doing these sprints. a Re: Walking ..> I have tried lacing my shoes differently.> Do you walk on a very hard surface?> My DH refuses to jog on asphalt.Yes, I walk on the street...and it has uneven spots because people here mixthe concrete on the street when they do construction and then don't clean itup well. Guest guest
way to go Norma. I can't believe I have exercised for 43 days. I don't think I am going to do so well in the no snack department tonight though. I am really hungry and I only have a few carbs left. I will try to keep it to jello and sour cream. paula Walking Again 2 miles briskly thanks to Dianne and the walk to the beat tape shesent me.
