, and Amy, Thanks for the scam info. I really need to be less

trusting, however that is very hard for me. Thank goodness I asked you guys

first before I did anything on this site. I'll try to follow the directions to

report it. THANKS AGAIN!!!!!! BONNIE

Bonnie Duran wrote:Did anyone get a message regarding this

today? I don't bank with these folks and just wondered if it has to do with our

donations to this web site. They say if I don't respond within a short period

of time they are going to suspend my banking privleges " here " , but to the best

of my knowledge, I don't bank there. I am new at the " pay pal " thing, and I

know they asked me to confirm deposits in my bank statement which I haven't had

the time to do yet. But before I give out any of my banking information to Sun

Trust, I want to make sure that this is affiliated with the donation stuff here.

Can anyone help? Thanks! Bonnie

Hi Bonnie,

I'm glad you checked with us first too!

I have a few friends and family that click first and ask questions later.

Here is a GREAT site to check out a lot of those

" please-forward-to-everyone-in-your-book " emails. It's also a lot of fun to

just browse through too. (I used it a lot after 9/11 with all the rumors

floating around)

, I can't thank you enough for you " doing your homework " and checking out

that site. I never would have thought to do that. Your concise directions made

it easy to file a fraudulent claim form. I go back and forth to Mayo clinic and

depend on my debit card instead of carrying cash, so I had almost started to

fill it out until I decided to ask you guys about it. The reason I had asked,

was because I just signed up with the pay pal thing to make donations to Ig A

website and almost assumed that this email was affiliated with that account.

Man oh Man, am I ever grateful for you. Thanks a million!!!! Bonnie

You are more than welcome!

I'm just glad that you asked first, and that *magically* your post wasn't

one of the ones that was bounced today! It took me three tries to get that

reply to you!

It REALY burns my *BUTT* that there are people out there that do this kind

of stuff. I know it is futile to stress about it, so I just try and head it

off when ever I can!

some others u need to be careful of are the ebay scam, getting an official

looking email from want appears to be ebay asking for all ur account info and

passwords and credit card info and bam ur account is drained and all ur

passwords are stolen. and the other one u need to watch out for is the one u

will get from some other country saying if u will help them out by letting them

put about $6,000,000.00 into ur account they will give u part of it, once u give

them ur account #'s bam ur account is drained. they will give u a long sad story

to get ur account #'s to so watch out for them they will look like it comes from

the gov't of that country also.

Poneyboy, thanks for the " heads up " . Thank goodness I do little shopping on the

internet. The only thing I buy on line is books I can't locate, and for that it

is great. I guess one can not be too careful these days. What a shame, huh.

Thanks again. Bonnie

Hi,

http://www.antiphishing.org/ is a industry site looking at this

practice. The archive is a good resource for checking out suspicious
