Guest guest
Krissy, With my last pregnancy, I was around 300 lbs. also. I actually had a woman ask me when I was going to show! Some people will ask anything. With this pregnancy, I was under 200 when I got pregnant. I'm 27 weeks now and DEFINITELY showing. It's kinda fun, but kinda hard to watch myself gain weight. I have gained 18 lbs. so far...more than I would like. lap RNY 5-9-01 Timmy 8-20-91 Cody 6-13-93 Abby 9-30-99 It's a girl EDD 6-20-
Guest guest
Hi Krissy, I am 16 weeks pregnant and have been having to wear maternity clothes for 2 weeks. I can definitely tell I am pregnant because my tummy (above my gross gross skin apron) is starting to pooch out. Ppl who know I have continued to lose weight in the last 4 months can tell I am showing, but ppl on the street probably just think Im fat. Hopefully the maternity clothes clues them in though. I was over 300# with my daughter who was born at 24 weeks. I never even hinted at showing with her, so this time it has been a little more fun. I just got back from Old Navy buying size xl maternity clothes..oh how nice it is to buy off the rack!!! As for weight gain, I was only 7 months postop when I got pregnant, hit a complete standstill and then slowly lost 9 more pounds. In the last 3-4weeks though, I have gained 4 of those back. I am SOO nervous about gaining too much weight and/or stretching my pouch. I had also planned on having reconstructive surgery this summer, but that will have to be put on the back burner for a while. As for now, I look totally deformed - drooping skin apron and pooching upper tummy - ackk! - but I am getting through. No one will care or remember 3 yrs from now..) HTH! Guest guest
Hello friends, I know this is a topic we have covered numerous times, but I would really appreciate any insight you could offer. I am 15 weeks along and a 120 lbs down from my surgery which was in September 02. I still have about 50-60 pounds to lose to get to my goal, and I have a large panni/roll/belly -- whatever term of affection you prefer. I think though, that I am beginning to show, because there is a rounded, firm hump in the middle of my abdomen. Do you think this could be the baby? It seems like it is awfully high, but I'm not seeing anything in my panni area and this hump is definitely a new development. Thanks so much, Annette Levitt EDD 11/27/

Guest guest
Annette, I was the same way too when I started showing. I always carried my son high, just like what you described, started out as a little " bump " . He stayed pretty high during most of my pregnancy. I would have to say that it's the baby growing and you are starting to show!!! Take care. Guest guest
Annette, I remember being somewhat surprised by this same thing. I somehow expected to show " lower down " , but really the baby began poking out right behind my bellybutton or even a little higher up. So I ended up with a basketball belly that had a built-in floppy skirt hanging off the bottom of it. Soooo attractive, let me tell you. I could take my belly skin and scoot it up and down over the baby. -Kris
Guest guest
Marcy, Thank you for sharing your experience. Have a great day! I was beginning to wonder if my stomach was stretching out or something! Annette At 05:19 PM 6/5/2003 -0700, you wrote: >Annette, > >I was the same way too when I started showing. Guest guest
I too am down 2-3 pounds pre pregnancy. I'm in my 19th week. The doctor hasn't even blinked at it, so I guess it's okay. The baby is measuring within a week of EDD. I also have a large bump above my belly button. It is the location of my surgical hernia, but isn't my hernia protruding. It's funny to look at, but if I put on a dress, it just looks like I'm pregnant. If i wear pants, it goes bump, 3 inch smaller waist then leftover fat on belly. not a pretty picture. Guest guest
Does anyone know of any articles that are good to show my doctor regarding pregnancy and WLS? Guest guest
I had a great time reading all your experiences with your showing. Mine is so different though! I am 17 weeks and just at the point where others can tell...although I could start telling about a month ago. Mine seems to be low though...like all the saggy skin to the front (below the belly button) and sides where my legs meet my torso are holding the baby belly down. I can tell I'll definitely have to wear some kind of support. As it is now, I have to wear tighter undies than usual so my baby tummy is obvious. Oh, and I have a bulge too, but it is above my belly button, and at the belly button level there is a huge " indent " ...where the skin broke during my first pregnancy. So I can't wait for the uterus to grow above my belly button and push out the indent and smooth out the whole thing. Thanks for all the input, even though I didn't ask the original question!
