New HALT procedure

Someone (thanks, J!) was kind enough to mail me a link for a Dr. Lee in

Monterey California who is performing a new procedure and seems to be very

well respected here (I live in Monterey). Thought some of you might be

interested.

HALT is the name of a new, innovative outpatient surgical procedure that

treats uterine fibroids and allows for conservation of the uterus (avoidance

of hysterectomy). The name HALT (for hysterectomy alternative) was chosen

since the procedure gives women the option of retaining the uterus.

Since the first announcement of the HALT procedure on May 7, 2002, at the

50th Annual Clinical Meeting of the American College of Obstetrics and

Gynecology in Los Angeles, there has been considerable domestic and

international interest from physicians and patients alike. The purpose of

this site is to make accessible a core of basic information regarding the
