Guest guest
Hello everyone, Well, I made it through the surgery. And I'll be the first to tell you that it hurts a lot, but I keep thinking that in a month or two, I'll be back to normal and feeling even better! I had my surgery last Thursday, was supposed to come home on Sunday, but they kept me in the hospital for an extra day because of severe swelling. They gave me a diuretic and finally I was able to get rid of some the excess water, or at least I thought so. I got home on Monday afternoon and by Monday night I was so swollen that I couldn't see my ankles. They found out that after 7 hours in the ER I was also low on potassium (at least it wasn't a blood clot!). So, they increased my levels on that by drinking some nasty tasting stuff, and I do feel better today, just tired. I'm chugging along on my protein drinks and lots of broth, applesauce and jello with protein in it - - my hospital sells this protein that you can't even taste. It's great! That way I get that much more protein! in MI Open RNY 10/3/
