Guest guest
Way cool! Hi everyone! I've not been posting lately, but I am so thrilled to hear of everyone's progress. I've dropped 3 lbs this week after holding steady at 188 at what seems like forever. I wore my size 14 reference jeans, and have made my fave old 11 levi's the new reference pair. Guest guest
Hi Amy, I haven't been posting here, but have been reading faithfully. About the bread, I can hardly stand to walk thru the aisle where the bread is located in the grocery store because it smells so.......well, fermented. LOL Congratulations on the 3 lb. loss. I've been stuck on 182 for over a week now. Yesterday, I didn't eat anything "illegal." Just ate too many macadamias (had 5 oz instead of my allotted 1 oz). Starting today, I promise I'll do better. Hopefully at least a lb off this week. I'm only trying for 1 lb a week and it usually averages out to that with days where I never seem to lose and then a 2-3 lb drop all of a sudden. dwen ahigs@... wrote: Hi everyone! You guys are such an inspiration, and I have to thank you for getting me thru, I couldn't have done it w/o all of you. Now on to the 170's!!!!!!!!! On the survivor challenge---regarding increasing the carbs, my experience over the past couple weeks has led me to believe that I need a little more carb to lose. .. .since Jan, I had just been doing induction over and over, with a few binges in between. Instead, the past week, I've allowed my self a piece of fruit every couple days. It seems to be working for me. . ..BTW, I tried to eat a piece of good bread yesterday---one bite and threw it out---the yeasty taste killed me, it was really sour and "fermented" to me. Taste buds must be changing, lol. Amy Please visit our homepage at http://members.xoom.com/AChallengers You will find information, recipes, before and after pictures. Guest guest
Jill: I don’t get the picture thing w/ Redbook either – I sent them a pretty funky pic – but anything counts – I suppose you could send them a picture of just about anyone – maybe someone you don’t like - or someone you'd like to look like?? -- How would they ever know if it’s you? Let me think now, whose pic should I have sent anyhow . . . . Seriously, I think the main thing is to let them know that their readers appreciate and applaud the article – and with or without photo, they should get that message. So, I don’t think the pic is a truly critical thing for our purposes. Just everyone - please write and pat them on the back for what they did. ___________________________________ Someone posted a reference to the Uterine Fibroids Research and Education Act which never made it out of Committee in either the House or the Senate – but interestingly enough, something has made the gov’t decide to spend $2.5 Mil per year on fibroids research all of the sudden – a drop in the bucket really, but a big increase nonetheless. My belief is that they were at least frightened into doing some little thing. -- See the archives on this list for posts made over the last couple of years about these Bills. My recollection of the legislative process is that this being the 108th Congress now, and those Bills being before the 107th Congress (a “session” of Congress lasts two years) – neither is pending before the current Congress. They could, however, be re-introduced. Meanwhile, it never hurts to bother your Senators and Representative about issues which matter to you – so Bill currently on the table or not – Fibroids Research and Education is worth writing them about. To track legislation, use (a website named for Jefferson) http://thomas.loc.gov/ - links to can be difficult – if it doesn’t work, just search for “” -- To find out who your Senators are use http://www.senate.gov/ and for your Representative use http://www.house.gov/ _______________________________________ Roma, Roma, Roma – waiting to hear that all is well and you’re back with us. Thinking of you all day today. Humming a little tune. Waiting for the next song. We DID have a songbook in Monterey – but no one willing to actually SING the songs out loud – lots of chuckles though. Will expand on it in time. Keep on dreaming stuff up – you should be able to get some really good drugs in the hospital to help you along with the song writing ideas. Best – really – hope all is well.
