I can relate to this so well ... I'm sure most of us can.

I am also nervous about the weight gain. I mean, every other time in my life

that I gained weight it seemed to be stuck on my body regardless of how hard I

tried to get rid of it. Until WLS.

I was gaining pretty quickly in the 2nd trimester. I've just recently started

my 3rd trimester (I'm 30+3 weeks) and the gain has slowed from a pound a week to

nothing during the last 4 weeks. I guess I have two pieces of advice to help

you cope with the gain.

1) think about your baby and the fact that you are feeding the baby in addition

to yourself ... that really helped me when my caloric intake finally went over

1200 calories a day. I found myself feeling bad about myself for eating ... I

try to focus on the baby now and it seems to help me cope with the weight gain.

2) make sure the food you are eating is nutritious and that you are not

initiating bad food habits that will be difficult to break after the baby is

born. For example: if you are gaining weight with a diet of candy, cookies, and

ice cream then you will most likely have a hard time stopping eating those foods

after the baby arrives. If you are gaining on fruits, veggies, and lean

proteins, then you are eating what your body needs now and what it will need

after baby. I've been craving ice cream so I have compromised to only allow

myself one spoonful AFTER I've eaten " good for me " food.

Best of luck to you and your baby #4 too.

gaining weight

I was just wondering how others have dealt with the weight gain

during post-wls pregnancy. It's scaring the life out of me...not

stopping me from eating though. In the back of my mind I keep saying

that once the baby is born I will " use the tool " and lose the weight

again. BUT, right now it makes me very frustrated to see my weight

going up, up, up.

I was gaining my " rebound " weight when I got pregnant...so to add

pregnancy weight to that has been very nerve racking. Help?!

Hi Annie..you hang in there and " remain hopeful " . Postivity counts

for a lot!!

Thank you so much for posting this recipe...I will use the diabetic

Glucerna instead of the Prosure...I think this will work for Glenn!!!

He manages to drink a lot easier than eat. I will also check with

the Dr. about the Emergen-C. He's getting tired of Gatorade for the

electrolytes. I'm a vitamin freak and Dr. took Glenn off all

vitamins, except a multiple. Does the Emergen-C also have vitamins? I

was assuming it did b/c of the name.

We are also having problems with the chemo-diarhea-dehydration-

diarhea syndrome and accompanied with the lower ab pain they don't

have any idea what it is, poor guy is just miserable. Onc. Dr.

called today and requested we get yet another Colonoscopy and if

nothing shows up like 2 wks. ago, he want an Upper Endoscopy. Anyone

know what that is?? That's a new one for us.

Thanks for everyone's help in answering questions, etc. Donelle
