Guest guest
Hi Pam, I've also heard that hyperstim is more common when you are pg, but I'm only 3 dpo so it seems a little early. I've had some really, really intense ones this afternoon, going from deep within my butt area all the way to my chest (like shooting pains). I'm going to bring it up tomorrow when I go in to the dr's. I hope it's nothing, but still drinking water. The second HCG shot is supposed to help progesterone. It kind of makes sense because when you are pg, the HCG from the pg typically gives your progesterone a boost. So, this is a way to get the boost, just in case I am pg. If the ovaries are too big, they can't give it. My first HCG shot was 10,000 units, and the booster is only 5,000 units. It's part of their normal protocol. My gyne didn't give me a booster either when I was on clomid once. Did I ever tell you that my E2 on the day of my HCG shot was 1530? They said this was good because they like to see at least 200 for every follicle, and I had 5 follicles. I remembered how you said 900 was too high for your IUI. Did they ever explain why? What was your E2 for IVF and how many follicles did you have? I just spoke to my friend with twins today. She is going for her 2nd level U/S tomorrow, which is when they can tell her what the sexes are. She said her dh doesn't want to know, but she does. Because she won't be able to keep the secret from him, she may not find out. I'd be going crazy if I was her--so many possibilities (2 girls, 2 boys, 1 of each). Your U/S must be coming up in a couple weeks too, right? Are you going to find out the sex? I think I'd have too, impatient as I am.
