Liz S. -

I went back to JMU in '99 for my 10 year reunion and things had definitely

changed! (for the better of course!) I am so glad it is thriving and

continuing to grow and offer more, like the technical school, which looked

awesome! I am originally from Northern Virginia (andria) but I live in

lovely San , Puerto Rico now and have for 4 years, due to my husband's

job, so I don't get back to onburg as often as I would like....What do

you do there (your job)?

Good luck with the insurance struggles -- That goes for EVERYONE out there!

I agree that Dr. Palter's view of " unethical " is a stretch in my mind. I

dealt with the insurance companies more than I care to say when I was going

thru all my infertility work-ups, IVF, etc. (pre-Asherman's) and it was

awful! Thankfully, I lived in land at the time, which has AWESOME laws

REQUIRING insurance companies to cover infertility. Actually, down here in

PR, my insurance if very good but covers ZERO in regards to infertility, and

you know what, I didn't even question whether or not my hysteroscopy would

be covered --- I just assumed it would be because it was a complication that

resulted from a miscarriage. (hope this doesn't come back to haunt me, as I

just had the surgery on June 4th) but I think it won't be an issue. All you

ladies out there -- as hard as it is, FIGHT for your rights with these

crazy insurance companies! I know it is the last thing you want to have to

deal with while dealing with AS, but many times the persistence pays off! I

liked the idea of the person who FAXED the actual definition of AS to the

proper authority to PROVE what the condition is and what causes it and she

got thru to the right person eventually to have the coverage she needed.

Sorry to ramble, but this topic makes me HOT under the collar! Oh well,

have fun on your vacation Liz!

Dawn,

Just an aside about infertility coverage in land. Speaking from

experience, things have changed since you left!!! Neither mine (POS)

nor my husband's (PPO) will cover infertility!
