Guest guest
So maybe my fluttering and some of the pounding is from the T3 NOT getting to the cells? http://ats.ctsnetjournals.org/cgi/content/full/annts;61/5/1323 I found this this AM showing they are now using T3 to stop A-Fib in post operative open heart surgeries. Guest guest
,That is exactly what I have been pondering about for a long time as well. I was on 100mcg T4 and 40 mcg T3 when I went into a-fib for 20 minutes. The horror of my life.I don't think that T3 got to the cells at the time. So now I am doing HC, iron-supps, andtaking T3 again. Slowly raising it from 5 mcg, to 10, now 15 and tonight 20 mcg daily. http://ats.ctsnetjo urnals.org/ cgi/content/ full/annts; 61/5/1323 I found this this AM showing they are now using T3 to stop A-Fib in post operative open heart surgeries. Guest guest
>How hard is Cytomel to manage really? I found it much easier than natural, everything happens at a very sensible speed and any slight excess wears off quickly Nick
Guest guest
I've been taking T3 only for about 3 months now. And I haven't felt this good for several years! I use my daily average temp to monitor my thyroid. Instructions and an excel spreadsheet are on www.drrind.com. My temp is slowly rising and has been getting increasingly more stable. I'm only at 30 mcg of Cytomel now, but I will hold it there for at least a month. When I increased from the 25 mcg to 30 I did have some trouble with my pulse increasing. So I spread out the dose into 5 throughout the day, in probably about 3 days my pulse had gone back down to normal again. I then went back to dosing 3 times a day and have not had any trouble. What works for one of us doesn't alays work for another, but maybe my experience will help you decide what to do. You might also try the FB group associated with www.stopthethyroidmadness.com if you want more opinions. It has also been very helpful. Not trying to send you away form this group though! Guest guest
I have been on T3 only (cytomel) for almost three years. It is not hard to manage it at all when you realize how good you feel on it you never want to have that feeling go away. LIke another forum responder, I take 25mcgs in 4 evenly spaced doses totalling 100mcgs per day. I have Hashimotos, tried Armour and was up to 2.5 grains when very high RT3 was discovered by Holtorf Medical Group in Torrance, California. My spouse is on Armour, has no RT3 issues, and I have thought about trying Armour again as it's way cheaper than Cytomel but I have not ever ventured back as I'm scared of going back to how I felt before Cytomel. I guess it comes down to what you are more afraid of and we always fear the unknown. I'm more afraid of feeling as sick as I did before Cytomel. .I don't have any fears about Cytomel; I have fears of being without it and being forced back to a drug that diminishes my quality of life. Hope this helps you to decide what to do. . .Hope it works for you. > > So I apparently have this RT3 problem. My RT3 is 38 and my fT3 is 3.2. I'm still honestly not convinced of the math in calculating the ratio and can't find any resources to back up what I'm reading here about the ratio but that is pointless. My RT3 is 38 with a lab range of 11-32 so it is too high. > > The problem is after reading Nick's pages I'm terrified to go on Cytomel. My heart already pounds at the slightest activity or stress and flutters mildly for a few seconds at a time when I'm sitting doing nothing more than reading a book. I don't know if I can reliably dose several times a day and monitor my vitals to stay on top of it without going hyper. Also, my lifestyle does not lend itself well to monitoring vitals. To just sit for 10 or more minutes to get a resting heart rate is a problem as I am up and around doing things at work most of the day and just typing this message my heart rate goes from resting at 70-80-ish to more like 110-ish. > > How hard is Cytomel to manage really? > > >
