Guest guest
Hiya. I consider myself a success story!! After getting up to 4 grains of Armour (I am hypo and had a botched surgery which left me with only half a thyroid). I feel -- most of the time -- like I did when I was in my 20s. I am 42. I am able to have a very, very active lifestyle: I ride horses, train dogs, train my Border Collies in herding and I have a Heeler that is on his way to becoming an Agility champ (which means I have to run a lot!). A year ago I was practically comatose. I could not get out of bed. I weighed 190. Now I weigh 160. My cholesterol shot down from 240 to 181 in 4 months! I feel full of life and am very happy. I do have some hypo feeling days now and again and I do push myself too hard physically. I think I need more rest than a person who was doing what I do everyday but had a working thyroid. But really I am not sure. I don't know too many people other than athletes who do what I do each week. I am currently dealing with some mild detox stuff since I am taking Iodoral in an attempt to shrink a parathyroid cyst. Basically I have a few days that I feel hypo or I have a fast heart rate. I am adjusting some supplements to help this and I feel these symptoms are worth the gain I will get. I feel that I need iodine -- since I have had the parathyroid cyst most of my life. My husband, family and friends all cannot believe my transformation. I owe it to STTM and the Yahoo groups such as this one. I discovered that thyroid problems run rampant in my family. My poor Grandmother seemingly " lost her mind " in her mid 30s. Now I feel she became a paranoid schizophrenic late in life b/c she had severe thyroid problems. I think I would have met that same fate, eventually. Not a day goes by that I do not feel grateful for my life and grateful for how much better I feel. I tell so many people who look/act hypo to me about Armour. If I can't convince them on the facts, my own vibrant health and high energy level at least makes them curious. I do take many supplements for my adrenals and to help my thyroid. I think there are a lot of healthy thyroid people out there who couldn't keep up with me. How is that for a success story? :-) Hang in there. If you have found this wise group, you are on the right path. Guest guest
I am a success story in the works! Let;s go back 13 years. I had Congestive heart failure, BP of 245/148, I am sure cortios through the roof though it was not tested, was on Synthroid or Levoxyl for 25 years, Dying of Myexedma Coma, had to slep in my computer chair as if I laid down I got Pneumonia. Had it five times one right after the other. Yup I was dying no doubt about it., I was given 2 years ot live at most by the cardiologist. I could gain or lose 20 pounds overnight by how much fluid my body decided to retain that day. I wore compression panty hose to work the days I made it in, I had to wear lace up boots to kleep my ankles from spilling over onto the floor. Alsdo at this time if I worked past 1PM I had to take a napo before I drove home or I fell aslepp on that drive, I had already wrecked three cars fallingasleep driving so the nao became a daily ritual when I got done working. Depression and suicide were my constant thoughts all day every day. The pain I was in was horrid. And I was over $50,000 in debt to doctors and labs. Now I ma 65 pounds lighter, work full time DO not ever pay a dpctor and am happy and alert all the time. I sleep a normal 8 hours every night IN MY BED wiht no residual signs of CHF or high blood pressure. No BO meds either.I am now 11 years past my dead dealine and feel purty darn good for a dead person! I could fell better, yes, but suicide has not crossed my mind in year s and I am very content with my pwn business and living alone with my 8 pets. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

My boyfriend is stunned. He's so impressed at my improved mood he's taking this all quite seriously and going to quit giving his daughter flouridated tap water to drink. And one of my therapist friends is going to be alot more pro-active about recommending thyroid evaluation to her clients. Yay! That's success already, I think. Guest guest
I think I'm a success story. I found a doctor in May who treats symptoms and adrenals. He said I didn't need HC but am using DHEA and on 120 mg of Armour plus 10 mcg of Cytomel and I feel GREAT. I am able to lose weight and although it's not melting off me because I've always been a slow loser, it is not impossible any more. I have energy and can get things done. BIG change from what I was like in March of this year. My old doctor wouldn't increase Armour above 30 mg and refused to consider adrenal problems because AM cortisol was " normal " . All my problems began when he diagnosed hypothyroidism based on TSH of 6.1 - it had been over 5 for several years - and put me on Synthroid. I got very much worse in every way and had symptoms of CFS and fibromyalgia. in MI > > > > > I'm seriously depressed at reading about everyone having issues with > > dosing and all, so I would love to hear a really good story of healing. > > Anyeone??? > > > >
