Guest guest
Hi Gang! Geoff Crenshaw here. Just a couple of common sense reminders... I've noticed a number of us posting a very large assortment of drugs, supplements, herbs, etc., being taken daily or in short order making us, metaphorically speaking, into " cocktail shakers " . As a rule-of-thumb, (i.e., something you can follow but which has exceptions) this sort of thing is ill-advised. Remember: If you can't tell that it is helping you - stop taking it. With supplements, etc., usually 90 days will be enough... BUT -- you can't tell anything on " cocktails " So... if you are taking ONE drug and decide to take ONE more do just that, ONE, and wait to see what happens. If it doesn't help, stop it before trying something new. Same thing with supplements. If you decide to try ONE, do that -- just ONE, try it for 90 days or so and see if it helps. If not, drop it. Are there exceptions? Certainly. For one, NAEDS testing can determine items effective for you, even in " cocktail " mode. For another, the AP can take an extended period (years) to make itself know -- but that is ONE drug (i.e., mino (or) doxy, etc., not this, that and the other thing.) My uninformed suspicion is that many of us are taking things we've " heard " are " good " for us, but if we were to stop one or all of them we would notice no change, except the unaccustomed jingle in our purses from the extra weight of the change we get to keep and spend more appropriately. And one other caution... Physicians (bless their hearts) often write scripts for this, that and the other thing assuming that if there is no literature to the contrary such a cocktail will have no ill effect. Be very wary of this for the truth of the matter is, regardless of the competence of the physician, if you introduce two drugs at once and something happens you have no way of knowing if the result is due to: DRUG A DRUG B DRUG A+B Nor can you always tell if DRUG A (or) B is helping while DRUG B (or) A is causing some other less obvious havoc.
