A friend had a benign lump that would increase and then decrease with her cycle- it was fluid swelling the benign cyst as her cycle would come and go causing tenderness....just like abdominal swelling or other menstrual changes. I am glad you are seeing your doc about it.

Much better to know and see what is going on with your body of course!

Hi,

I am new here, so let me introduce myself to ya'll...lol.

I am in NC and am a RN, but I am a Neuro ICU RN. I have some

questions, and know that ya'll will be able to answer me since

you have been diagnosed with Breast Ca already. To start, did any of

you have breast tenderness and then found a lump?

About a week before my last period I had significant breast tenderness

that I had never experienced before. I really didn't think much about

it and just chalkied it up to hormonal changes. Well, after my period

was over and I did my monthly breast exam, I actually could feel a

lump where I had never felt one before. I called my Doc, and do have

an appt in 2 days. I then noticed that the tenderness decreased, but

now I am one week away from starting my period again and the

tenderness has once again increased. Any similiarites to anything

ya'll have experienced? Thanks for your input ahead of time.

Chris

Hi and welcome. I did not have this problem but do you by any chance drink/eat a lot of things with caffeine? Caffeine can cause problems. I will keep you in my prayers.

Thanks nne,

I only drink 1-2 cups of coffee in the am and that's it, so I wouldn't say it is an over abundance by today's standards.

Mine was a boil forming. The cyst came later. Thankfully caught it early enough for antibiotics to work without lancing it.

That is exactly how I found mine. Tenderness started right before my

period and then when i went to touch my breast I felt the lump. Mine

did go away after my period stopped but came back the next month and

then didnt go away thats when i went to Dr.I thought the same exact

thing you did that my hormones were wigging out. Mine ended up being

cancer but in most cases that I have heard it is probably a cyst.

Like everyone has told me " Dont worry until you need to " !!!!

Take care and God Bless

If this continues or if the lump doesn't go away you should insist on further testing.
