Yes, Yes, Yes, I have done the same thing. I feel like I'm getting the " last

supper " each day! I've put on about 10 lbs in the past month.... Thank God I

only have 18 more days to go!!!

Thanks. It helps me to know I'm not alone. But I don't like this. I don't

need anymore weight than I have now. I hope talking about it will help.

I have noticed myself eating compulsively and I think personally I am

noticing the behavior more in myself and recognizing it for what it

is because of planning to have the surgery and trying to understand

all of the changes it will mean to my life. I think it makes us look

closer at our behaviors and recognize things that we wont be able to

do anymore.

YES! I was at the grocery store today on my last big shopping trip

before my surgery. I found myself having a very bad case of, " I should

buy that because I won't be able to eat it later " . I managed to get out

with the stuff on my list and a couple splurges.

Ever since I started reading about the surgery months ago I have had

that sort of thinking from time to time. But it sort of comes and goes

and I have been focusing on eating more like a post-op as much as I can

(lots of protein and fluids, easy on the sugary stuff).

Good news....I have heard more than one post-op say not to get too

upset about these cravings and the need to eat stuff we shouldn't. It

appears to be part of the process for most of us. Personally, the less

I worry about it, the less I seem to eat.

I'm sure that's true. Thanks for sharing. I'll try to not let it worry me.

Fellow nut here.... I'm going through the same thing. It's nerves for

me. Lots of people can't eat when they're nervous -- I'm just the

opposite! Then again, I eat compulsively when happy, sad, nervous,

scared... LOL

Take it one meal at a time. Try to think about your feelings before you

indulge. Write to us! Call a friend. Go ahead and eat, but drink

water between each bite. Get out and enjoy the fall air. These are all

the things I'm trying.

Good luck hunny and hang in there...
