Guest guest
God bless him!! Prayers for peace and serenity to all his family and friends, knowing he's no longer in any pain and not suffering. I'm fairly new on this list...I did see a couple messages from Cliff and they were always upbeat!! When you get some time, I'd be interested in hearing more about the stereotactic radiation as a treatment for mets to the liver. Glenn has exactly that and is currently on 5FU/Leuk/Oxaliplatin/Avastin 46 hr. infusion drip every 2 wks. Are you familiar with the radiation Cliff advocated...can you tell me anything about it?? Wondering how much more effective radiation would be than chemo?? I'll ask our Dr. next Monday also...what his theory might be. I wonder why one dr. chooses one treatment and another dr. chooses a different treatment?? That really bothers me...:-) I guess it's like anything else...and if you get a sinus infection, one dr. gives one rx and another gives something different. Take care all of the family....prayers coming your way... Donelle In a message dated 1/4/2005 12:17:13 P.M. Subject: [COLON] Cliff We regret being the persons to inform the list that Cliff died early this morning, Dec. 30. Though he was not a frequent contributor, we know first-hand that he read all the posts - here and on other lists - with intense concern. Cliff was a tireless advocate of stereotactic radiation as a treatment for liver mets and was always baffled that it didn't create greater interest on the list. It gave him four years of high quality living - devotion to friends, work with impaired children, wide-ranging travel, and sharing his informed experience with others. Having heard his sentiments many times, we know Cliff would want some of his final words to be another " thank you " for Dr. Kyu Shin in Buffalo. Several months ago, however, additional mets developed in his lungs. That, plus the rigors of a FOLFIRI regimen, finally took his life with renal failure. For those who knew him well, he will always be heard as a voice of good cheer and encouragement. Donelle Caregiver to Glenn
Guest guest
Cliff will be sorely missed. It is with great sadness to read of his passing. There were a couple of folks we hadn't heard from recently, and Cliff was one of them. I can only pray that his passing was easy, and that he is at peace and with the Lord. Guest guest
Katy - so are they accepting you at the clinic? Either way - stay strong. Sometimes it's just hard to know what to hope for. You made me smile too - you used one of my favorite phrases " never rains but it pours " . Sheila
Guest guest
Cliff will be missed. His mantra ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE gave us all hope to press on. Guest guest
So sad to read about Cliff--like Joe and he was a rock. And eerie, just as I plan to go downstate to get assessed for RFA to read about a similar treatment--sterotactic radiation--that was successfull for him. And here's another laugh/question. I'm going to Beuamont in Detroit but some time in the past I filled out an inquiry to Cleveland Clinic and today I get a call from a really knowledgeable physician's assistant asking questions as if I were a potnetial patient! Did find out that several of my liver tumors, as of their size 10/25, are not big enough to find to zap--1 to 1.5 cm about the bottom and I had some in the 5-7 mm range. Do I want more tumor? Nah...But it never rains but it pours. Guest guest
I am deeply saddened to hear of Cliff's passing. He was a wonderful source of information and encouragement to me in seeking help for my mother. Cliff really did seem to " live " the time he had with great joy. He will be missed. Guest guest
I'm so sad about Cliff's passing. He really was one of the survivors, even though he has gone. His attitude, courage and kindness make me glad to share his first name. I only hope I can live up to his standard. I am also glad that he was able to enjoy the cruise. All things are possible, pass it on! Miracles happen! Cliff H. > > I'm posting this as follow-up to my earlier message regarding > Cliff's passing.
