Guest guest
LOL I had my endoscopy last Friday, I hate them so much, but you right, it is much better than eating gluten : / My throat still hurts a week after the procedure! I don’t think I am a wuss but it is annoying. I do use this opportunity to eat lots of popsicles though ;p Now, I am new to the diet, and had my endoscopy so I went back on the diet, my question is why do we have to have more endoscopies? Do they have to see if we are getting better? In my mind I think well, they told me I have CD, the diet works, I am happy, why do I have to go through that gluten nightmare to have the test done again. Guest guest
Yes, I am feeling quite sick, but I am determined to do this as I really want to know if I have CD. A lot of people think I am nuts as they can't understand why I am torturing myself with this as I will definitely return to being gluten-free after the endoscopy. My reasoning is this -- if I don't have CD, then I will have some gluten every once in a while and I will know that I am not poisoning my system. I have been eating every gluten item that I missed so much when I was gluten free. I thought I would be enjoying this so much, but it's just not that way. I have returned to living on Pepto Bismol which I buy in quantity. When is your endoscopy scheduled? I had one Dr. say that you only needed to be back on gluten for 2-4 weeks, but most Drs. say about 6 weeks. Thanks for emailing me as your understanding really helps me. Guest guest
I say, the longer the better and at lots of it. You want to make sure you get yourself good and glutened if you are going to do it. I only went back on for 5 weeks (was supposed to be longer, but appt got moved up due to Drs schedule). At that point, I was just starting to feel the GI effects - I seem to get tiredness, aches and terrible nerve pain in my foot before the GI stuff comes on strong (EW!) Biopsy came back negative, but as soon as I went GF again, I felt SO much better. I know my body is telling me to eat GF no matter what the tests say, but kind of wish I had decided to stick it out for a few more weeks for a later appt - maybe the results would have been different and I would know " for sure. " Now I sort of feel like it might just be a random reaction and I am putting myself on a " weird " diet for nothing.

Guest guest
My son is Bocci...or Baci, as I prefer (kisses in italian, as opposed to the lawn bowling game)...and has been since pre-birth. We were trying to come up with names, and one of my co-workers said we should name him Bocci. Bocci Calacci, a nice italian name. Oh brother, I said. But it stuck. And my best friend at work, whom I am best friend with out of work, told her family...so they started calling in-utero Brennan Bocci...and her daughter went to our daycare, so now all the kids at daycare and the other parents call him Bocci too. In fact, I'd lay dollars to donuts that some of them don't even know his real name! Guest guest
That’s a perfect one! My ds has recently started forcing me to eliminate some of my pet names for him…he’s 13 and terminally cool, so “punkin-butt” doesn’t fly anymore. It’s no problem, I can make up more. Guest guest
I'm in the same boat. My doctor (OB/Gyn) refers to them as " inflamation issues. Don't stop! If our gluten-free friends don't want to read this, they can ignore us. This is helping me get through this period. I hope I will have been back on gluten long enough to get an accurate result. It sounds like you will be back on gluten for over 8 weeks. Is that correct? I think my system is getting a bit more used to the gluten returning. The nausea is what kills me. I just never dreamed I would feel so different. Laurie Bilyeu wrote: Go girl, you can do it. I’m sure everyone wants to get this update every morning for the foreseeable future and so I will oblige… (wink) My endo isn’t even scheduled. I return to Doc in 3 weeks to schedule it for 5 weeks out. This doc said 6 weeks back on gluten because he doesn’t want a false negative. Me neither. Laurie lbilyeu@...
