Guest guest
I had my fourth treatment came home, ate I called and the nurses when I threw up what I ate right after treatment and they said "oh, always eat BEFORE your treatments, not right after...wait a couple of hours if you are hungry afterwards..." I didn;t feel that bad, just didn;t keep my food down! One of those weird things I guess!! Andree www.essentialsoapsinc.com
Guest guest
Dear , I know when I had A/C and Taxol, it "built" up - every treatment, I felt worse than the first, and my nurses assured me that it is normal. As for the tizzy thing? I remember feeling I couldn't read, hear or see enough information about breast cancer - I was totally immersing myself in a world I needed to know everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, about...it was starting to consume every waking hour of my life. You're burning out on BC!!! Very normal...especially when you are feeling the way you do at this point in your treatment. You need to break away - find a hobby, read a new book, listen to music, immerse YOURSELF in something YOU want to do!!! This is "" time! It is very possible that you overate - sometimes we get very ambitious because we're hungry. Eat smaller portions, wait, go back and eat again if you're hungry. As for the heartburn thing, ask your oncologist's office if there's something you can take, like a Pepcid AC which was a godsend for me - that's what they are there for. Don't assume because you took your anti-nausea pills, that you are being a baby and complaining. You should be comfortable - PERIOD! - they are PAID to make YOU comfortable. And don't assume because your friend couldn't take those pills, that you can't - everyone is different, and if you feel something you think is an adverse reaction, call them. I feel your pain - I really do. I've heard people describe treatment as everything from the bottom of the abyss, to the closest to death they've ever experienced. Just know that many of us here HAVE BEEN THERE (past tense) and we're here to help you along this journey. VENTING is a good thing honey - do it, yell at the computer, stomp your feet. It is NOT fair - not to any one of us, but you will get past it, that I promise you...and then HUG yourself - tell yourself that what you are going through is temporary, and you WILL get through it. You're almost done!!! Just remember - YOU ARE A WINNER! Best,
Guest guest
Hi , My onc used to tell me not to eat anything greasy or heavy. He said checken soup and ginger ale. I did that for the first day or two and never had a problem. Maybe you need your anti nausea med changed. Be sure to tell the onc. You are not complaining so don't worry about that. We are here to help you if we can. Never feel bad about coming here and asking questions, venting etc. If you think the reading has caused you to be down then I wouldn't read anything about bc anymore. I did just the opposite. I bought every book available, I mean EVERY book!! I have over 200 books on cacer, breast cancer and positive thinking. Of course its been 15 1/2 yrs. If you stay down ask your dr for an antidepressant to help you get through this. I will keep you in my prayers. Hello everyone,Okay I'm looking for any ideas, answers and wisdom. I have had 3 treatments (FEC regime) and have not had any problems. No vomiting, really slight nausea - more like heartburn. Yesterday I had my fourth treatment came home, ate (probably to much) went to bed normal time, was restless woke up several times. Got up, had a bagel and apple juice, took my 2 anti-nausea medicines and then threw up within 1/2 hour. I went back to bed slept 2 hours and have not had anything today but chicken stock and a slice of toast and bannana. Not feeling bad now - honestly hungry but scared to eat. I am terrified that this crap is building up in my body and that the last 2 treatments will be hell. How is that for full blown panic! What do you guys think? Why would I get sick now after feeling good all along. My daughter has been sick from a cold, but my blood work was in the normal range and I haven't felt sick. Do you think I just got cocky and ate to much? Can the anti nausea have caused it? I took a semintel at lunch time and am not due for another dexamethasone till 6 pm. I'm kinda scared of the dexamethasone as a friend found that made her sick and she was fine after they took her off of it. But again I ask why now? Anyone ready to tell me to shut up and stop complaining yet? Okay and hear is my last question. The last 1 1/2 week I have been in an awful mood. To much thinking, reading about breast cancer have sent me into a tizzy. I'm starting to think this hasn't helped either as the last few times, I've been in a much better place emotionally. Any thoughts?Okay, I've vented enough - thanks for being here and letting me get it out. Feels better to get this out .... really I'm not a lunatic...well at least not much of one normally. Guest guest
Thanks Janet, When a 4 1/2 year old is sick it is hard to avoid the germs. Nothing else today...so maybe just over indulgence. Please and thanks for the prayers...I know they work. " Way up here " is Alberta, Canada. Used to be way up by the Territory border...but thankfully we migrated way farther south! Is WA Washington? My sister and family are living in Dupont right now. Guest guest
Hi , Okay I tried to reply and don't think it went through....so we will try again. Thank you so much for your reply. You are right about burn out. I have put away the books and hidden the websites and I will deal with them later. I need to get through the next 2 treatments and will focus on putting myself back into my good frame of mind. I think this can do wonders. You are right about this being temporary and I will post this all over my house. We can do anything - especially when we see a start and end date. I am so grateful that I have this site to vent. Often just typing out what I have buried in me is the real therapy. But getting the words of encouragement and support mean so very much at this time. Someone sent me this and I hope you all enjoy it. TO THE WONDERFUL WOMEN IN MY CIRCLE When I was little, I used to believe in the concept of one best friend, and then I started to become a woman. And then I found out that if you allow your heart to open up, God would show you the best in many friends. One friend is needed when you're going through things with your man. Another friend is needed when you're going through things with your mom. Another when you want to shop, share, heal, hurt, joke, or just be. One friend will say let's pray together, another let's cry together, another let's fight together, another let's walk away together. One friend will meet your spiritual needs, another your shoe fetish, another your love for movies, another will be with you in your season of confusion, another will be your clarifier, another the wind beneath your wings. But whatever their assignment in your life, on whatever the occasion, on whatever the day, or wherever you need them to meet you with their gym shoes on and hair pulled back, or to hold you back from making a complete fool of yourself ...those are your best friends. It may all be wrapped up in one woman, but for many it's wrapped up in several... one from 7th grade, one from high school, several from the college years, a couple from old jobs, several from church, on some days your mother, on some days your neighbor, on others your sisters, and on some days your daughters. So whether they've been there 20 minutes or 20 years, Pass this on to the women that God has placed in your life to make a difference. Guest guest
...I had almost the same experience. The difference is that I just didn't eat. Probably stupid but I don't do throwing up very well and I'll starve before I'll let that happen. Since I didn't eat it took longer to get my strength back. Try not to panic. That won't help you at all. Just take a nice deep breath and remember...you can do this and it is almost over. I finally had to just quit doing all that research. It was making me crazy, making me feel guilty, and confusing me. I decided I had learned enough to be able to understand what the doctors were telling me and that I was paying for their expertise so why not take advantage of it and not have to pay for psychiatry also. Guest guest
I have a good friend who grew up in Alberta. She is of the friends driving me to treatments. Her grown daughter and husband live in Calgary.......maybe that's wrong because they moved last year to Okatoke, is that spelled right? I live 90 miles north of Seattle on I-5 and it's about 30 miles to the Canadian border. So maybe it's about 60 miles to Vancouver. We go up there a lot for day trips or vacations. When they have the Olympic Games in four years, I know the local businesses are planning for extra people staying here and heading for Canada to see the games. We see a lot of shoppers from Canada at our local mall and everywhere else. Is Dupont near Tacoma? I am not sure--- but I've heard of it. You can email privately at momtwo3@... if you would like.
