Guest guest
I should also note that I got my saliva cortisol results back, but they are all messed up, probably due to taking the Cortef. However, the DHEA was normal on that test. This is actually very good, because it was extremely elevated when I had DHEA tested two years ago. Guest guest
>>fT3 2.99 (1.8-4.20)<< This is why all the symptoms. Free T3 should be at the very top if it;s range to slightly over for best health. I look for at least 4.0 on this range. You may have slightly high cortisol as your RT3 is a bit higher than it should be but not in a danger area yet. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
So, I'm not a complete nut? You are wonderful. If I make the trip to see Dr. Rind, do you think he would consider treating me with these types of results? Also, per your comment on the cortisol, do I still continue to increase my cortisol until the temps stabilize? I'm at a total of 22.5 now. > > >>fT3 2.99 (1.8-4.20)<< > > This is why all the symptoms. Free T3 should be at the very top if it;s range to slightly over for best health. Guest guest
Are these blood tests? Your blood work just shows that...what is circulating in the blood. It does NOT tell what is happening in your cells. My blood work ALWAYS came back normal and I am hypothyroid with stage 7 adrenal fatigue. If I had relied on my blood work, I would be dead now. I started self treating a few years ago. I am serious too when I say I would be dead, so if you have a lot of symptoms, you have to know that your blood work is not showing the reality of what is happening in your body. Saliva tests are better at showing what is happening on a cellular level. I recommend getting those. Cheri ARGGH- Complete Genova Thyroid blood tests are all normal...what to do? I finally got my test results from Genova. Everything shows normal, as far as I can tell. My doc won't treat me. Maybe I'm missing something? I was taking 15 mg cortef (dosing 5-5-5) at the time. Here are the results, with reference ranges in parentheses: I have all the symptoms of hypothyroid, as well as hypoadrenal. I'm still working on the cortef - got a little off track, as I was traveling this weekend, but my temps have been anywhere from 97.1 - 98.2 these last three days. So, why do I have all these symptoms but the blood work is well within range? What am I missing???? Thanks, .
Guest guest
Yes, these are blood tests for the thyroid. It is saliva for the cortisol and DHEA (Diagnos-Techs). I didn't realize there were saliva tests for thyroid. I am really considering self-treating. My hubby is supportive, but we will have to revisit finding a doctor if I want to try to get pregnant in the future. I would be too nervous to self-treat during a pregnancy, but I've got a long way to go before I am healthy enough for that. 8-(
Guest guest
Do you have saliva cortisol labs? -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
> > Do you have saliva cortisol labs? > YES, I DO, AND I'D LOVE TO HAVE YOUR INPUT. First is the information I submitted to the lab regarding my Cortef levels. They said it would be fine to continue on the Cortef, as long as I let them know my dosing schedule. However, their written analysis does not reflect this at all. The doctor is trying to find out some further info on this. So far, I haven't heard anything. My letter to Diagnos-Techs: I am taking hydrocortisone, 5 mg, 3 times per day. Below is the schedule I take it on, and also the times I collected my saliva specimens: 7:45 a.m. Collected specimen 8:15 a.m. 5 mg hydrocortisone 11:45 a.m. Collected specimen 12:15 p.m. 5 mg hydrocortisone 3:45 p.m. Collected specimen 4:00 p.m. 5 mg hydrocortisone 10:00 p.m. 22.5 mg Restoril for insomnia 11:40 p.m. Collected specimen My lab results: AM 37 elevated (ref 13-24) Noon 10 normal (5-10) PM 25 elevated (3-8) midnt 6 elevated (1-4) Some things to consider: I have a very nervous personality. I felt nervous and could feel myself getting anxious while I was trying to collect the saliva. Taking Cortef has significantly reduced my female bleeding, although it is still horrendous. My eyebrows and leg hair have grown back. 2.5 mg at night isn't making my sleep any better or worse. Since this test, I have been trying to ramp up the Cortef, but still haven't reached a steady temp. I am slowing down my increases to make sure I don't overshoot my optimum dose. I would love to hear your opinion. Have I said how wonderful you are? =-)
Guest guest
Did you not have ANY cortisol labs done before starting HC? This looks to me like you have HIGH cortiosl. Especially in the AM. If I were you, I would taper off the HC and have labs fone after two weeks off it.
