Liz,

Sorry I haven't welcomed you sooner. I'm so happy to hear that you

are going to go to Dr. Palter next month and I'm wishing you good

luck. Our stories are similar-I have a daughter and then lost a

daughter at 19 weeks due to i/c. I had no problems with i/c during my

other pregnancy. When I had my 18 week u/s it showed that I was

dilated and funneling. My peri placed an emergency cerclage that day

and told me that I would have lasted 2 more days at the most before my

water would have broke. I am wondering if something similar happened

to you. I had no other symptoms. 1 week later, I went into labor and

delivered my little girl who died in my arms shortly after. I know

what you are saying when you mentioned seeing your son on the u/s and

knowing he wasn't going to make it. That was one of the hardest

things for me. I was sent for another u/s before I delivered to see

if she was starting to come out or if they could try to push the

membranes back up. She was already coming out so there was no more

that could be done. It was one of the worst feelings ever to see that

healthy baby fighting to live and knowing that she wouldn't be able

to. I think that this is what drives me at times to keep trying. I

just feel that this is not the way I want things to end and there's

this need to have another baby. Take care and please keep us posted.

Liz,

I know what you mean about being afraid of what you may hear at your

appt. I think there are many of us who have felt that way. I know

that at first I was just excited because I found an A-list close to me

and then I got the ok from my HMO but then the fear set in of what I

was to find out. I hope with all of my heart that you get some good

news. Thank you for sharing with me-I understand the need to

talk about these little ones who we have known so briefly and then

lost. I know how much it means to me to be able to talk about

with someone who understands. Take care!
