Guest guest
According to my doctor, the reason Atkin's works because we are lowering our calories. When you cut out all that pasta and bread, etc., you really lower your total caloric intake. Kari wrote: Well the problem is I have been using this as an excuse...so I just quit and starting eating "normally" and exercising. Well I have lost three pounds since January 1 doing this, but I need something serious to get the 20 off! Anyway, I Do you think that our metabolism has changed since we've been on Atkins for so long and that now moderation is the key, or a more balanced diet??? Guest guest
I bought a food scale to weigh the small amounts. The one I got has a removable cup on top, so you can fill it with whatever you are weighing. I also use the little paper cups that you usually see in bathrooms. They are 3 ounces. I also use a baby spoon and fork, so it seems like I am eating bigger meals. An egg weighs about 2 ounces. Hope that helps. catherine wrote: yep it sure does julie thats why i think i will do it a little at a time i dont really know how to measure ounces of foods prob you do since you can only eat ounces any tips??? do you know how much an egg is?catherine ----- Please visit our homepage at http://members.xoom.com/AChallengers You will find information, recipes, before and after pictures. Guest guest
I think you are one of those truely insulin resisitant people then. Both low fat and low carb work for me, actually lowfat works mucho faster, but who the heck can stick with that diet plan?? I prefer low carb and definatlely think low carb is much healther then low fat also. Guest guest
, do it this way. Add up all the grams (protein, fat and carbo) for the egg. Then divide 2 (this being the 2 oz the egg weighs according to ) into that number. Mulitply the results by the Protein Grams, this should give u the protein ounces. Example. lets say the egg has the 6.24 g protein, .6 g carbs and 1 g fat then 6.24 + .6 + 1 = 7.84 2 / 7.84 = .26 ..26 * 6.24 = 1.62 oz I would say this egg has 1.62 oz of protein. Guest guest
My thoughts exactly , I mean if you can only eat so many grams of protein and carbs a day, sounds like this diet is severly restricting calories. Of couse u will lose weight, but how hungry will u be?
