Guest guest
What a wonderful letter! I am glad you have scheduled an appointment. However if you have any increase in symptoms I would call the dr. and go straight to the emergency room. At your young age you may be fortunate to have other less serious problems BUT don't mess around get tested. We are all pulling for you so please let us know how things work out. Guest guest
Mike - don't beat yourself up too badly! First, it may turn out to be nothing much to worry about, and second - a lot of us have been just where you are. I know I have. I had symptoms for 14 years (starting when I was 28), and even with telling the doctors immediately about it and doing tests over the years, things were still ignored and explained away as just a hemmorid. It just goes to show, even docs can dig their heads into the sand. Hope that you keep that appointment and do what you have to. You are your own best advocate and taking that first step is a biggie. Scream and holler till someone listens - you know your body best. And welcome to the group. We do what we can for each other and will do the same for you. Ask questions - lots of them. We'll answer what we can. Sheila

You are all wonderfull people. I am a 29 year old male, who stupidly have been ignoring periodic bouts of rectal bleeding for 3 years. Within the past 6 months, the bleeding has increased, I have begun having lower abdominal pain, noticed changes in my bowl habbits including very narrow stools recently. Two weeks ago I had a severe onset of low back pain that came out of nowhere. While I have no excuse for waiting so long and feel like an idot doing it, reading your stories and the support you offer each other has prompted me to schedule an appointment with my doctor. I want to thank all of you for being so wonderfull to each other, it has helped me go and at least get this checked out, as it is evedient something in me is requiring medical attention. Thank you, Mike

Guest guest
Mike, please have them get you in soon. Do not wait. My husband waited for his appointment by a month that was too late. He also felt he had to arrange things around his job. Remember you are first. Barbara Gari wrote: Mike, We will be praying for you. Karima Re: New to this group Mike.... GO! GO! GO!
