Guest guest Posted April 10, 2001 Report Share Posted April 10, 2001 Rio Grande Country Ribs Makes 5 - 6 servings 2 1/2 to 3 lb country-style ribs 1 onion, thinly sliced 1 (7 0z) can green chili salsa 1/4 cup dry white wine 3 tablespoons brown sugar (Twin) 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon prepared mustard 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 2 tablespoons cornstarch ( not starch or arrowroot) 3 tablespoons water 1/3 cup sour cream 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro Combine ribs and onion in a slow cooker. In a medium bowl, combine salsa, wine,brown sugar, Worstershire sauce, mustard and chili powder Pour mixture over meat. Cover and cook on low 6-7 hours or until ribs are tender. Remove ribs from cooker and keep warm. Turn control to high 15 to 20 minutes or until slightly thickened. spoon sauce offer ribs. They are much meatier then spare ribs, check your meat section for the lable that says country style ribs.
