Guest guest
Mo, if you are going to have him try supplements to up his thyroid, I recommend going to www.wilsonssyndrome.com and ordering their adrenal and thyroid supplements since they combine the things you need in one. You can also download both the patient and doctor's manual (FREE) and you will learn TONS of information on T3 and conversion issues, etc. It is possible your son could reverse his issues with supplements only depending on where he is at. I read a lot of testimonials from people using the supplements who did. I used them back in 2003 and stopped only because I could no longer afford it. So I went out and bought the key supplements in a cheaper form. You can check the products to see what ingredients are in each capsule and how much. They have helped me, so I can attest to that. However, my case is too severe so I needed (and need) more. I then added adrenal glandulars (a different Dr. www. adrenalfatigue.com) but a month ago needed even more support so now am on Isocort. I never did get optimized but that was because I didn't realize just how severe my adrenal state was. So, I keep working on it. The easy thing he can do is get the thermometer (not digital, it has to be mercury or mercury substitute for accurate reading...they sell that on the site too) and track his morning temps per their instruction. That is easy for him to do because he can do it regardless of when he wakes he can take it and it is only once a day. It won't give him info on his adrenals, but will give him info on his thyroid state and doesn't have to do the three day, 3 hour routine for adrenals just yet if that is too difficult for him as a college student. That will at least tell him if his body temp is low in the morning for thyroid. Those temps are taking in the armpit in a resting position first thing in the morning. It would be a cheaper route if you feel you cannot afford to have him go to Dr. P just yet and he might be able to tell some things about his body and see improvement on the supplements. I took had thyroid and adrenal symptoms my entire life and when it really got bad was at 19 in college and docs could not figure out what was wrong so I suffered for decades. Your son is young, so in that regard he is lucky because he might be able to reverse a lot catching it early before they thyroid or adrenal have permanent damage like happens to those of us who get diagnosed so late. Cheri Re: Re: repost - support needed HI OK. He does take a multi vit/mineral, one gram Vit C a day but maybe he should have more. What about selenium. Is it inevitable for a child to become hypoT if both parents are do you know? It would be impossible to get mine to do a saliva test, since he's not living at home where I could ensure all samples were taken. Yes Iunderstand. My son is having to borrow the equivalent of $140 to pay for his saliva test so this is quite a motivating factor as you will appreciate Anyone else there with ino on this please? Thanks.
