So since my cortisol is already high it's going even higher with the

cold, thus the return of the anxiety, shakiness, etc?

Nope. When you have all the time high cortisll yiour body opens up more cortisol

receptors to get rid of the excess. You when is left for cellular work is the

same as any other perosn as thta is the way it has to be to live. When you or I

get a cold, our adnreals are already maxxed out producing their usual high

cortiosl so there is no more cortisol to be made, but as the cellular work (for

lack of a better name) just got intensified we actualy get LOW cortios symptoms

when we get ill or stressed. The extra receptors take up the same cortisol

whether it is available or nbot, thus you can have high cortisll and still have

low cortisol symptoms.

Ah, so those of us with all the time high cortisol...I am taking PS

to lower it, but is it ever appropriate to take isocort, or is that

only for low cortisol?

Actually I take HC to support my adrenals and actually have tried

blkock/replace which onoly works for a shirt time then the high levels

rteturn no matter what I try. I take 15-20MG daily now just so my

adnreals do nto give out while thye are being forced to over produce.

Do you suffer from any of the high cortisol symptoms while on the HC?

I think you said once you were unable to take the PS. Do most people

have good luck with PS or what is the best way to lower cortisol?

I am Diabetic I am sure cuased by years of high cortiosl. I have a big belly and

fluid retention problems but that and being too tired seem to be my worst

symptoms. It DOES affect my glucose alot and my insulin use doubles when it is

bad! No I have problems taking MOST herbals in that I either get horrid stomach

pain or diarrhea from them. PS was no differnt. I have known some peopel to

report good things from PS use. Lowering high cortisl you need ot destress

everythig possible in your life. Stop smoking, check for sleep apnea as that can

cause high cortisol, low stress job, and caffeine and other stimulants should be

stopped.

Val-Sorry for all the questions. Should I stay with just the PS and

Dr. 's adrenal support (been on if for about a month) and see

if that brings down the cortisol and if not, then try Isocort/and or

HC?

OK, I think I've been hypo for a long time being on Synthroid for 5

years. Just switched to Armour but not to my optimal dose yet. I

posted these earlier but would you consider them hypo? Also does low

ferritin stress the adrenals also?

Reverse T3 13 (11-32)

Ferritin 7 (10-232)

TSH 0.51 (0.4-4.50)

FT4 0.6 (0.8-1.8)

FT3 242 (230-420)

No where NEAR otimal. Low Ferritin I am not sure about stressing the adrenals

btu it will prevent the thyroid fom working properly probably due to the low

hemoglobin it causes. 7 is REALLY low and needs to be ebtween 0-90 for optimal

health. If on Armoru, T4 should be 1.4 and T3 needs ot be at leat 200 preferably

420 to 450.

So in other words still hypo? Like I said, just started on 90 mg

Armour and just raised to 120mg. In the mean time, will work on my

high cortisol and low iron. ;o(
