I don't really have much of an answer for you. But I looked on line

and I found this regarding sleeplessness - " A nightcap of chamomile

tea is as effective for children as it is for adults. " Do you like

tea? Maybe it would be worth a try?

Also, don't know if you are interested in herbal/natural remedies,

but if you are here is a link that you might want to look at...I

don't know much about these this, and you want to be careful when

taking herbs...maybe run it past the dr?

Carmen,

For the first week after my ep. I couldn't switch off. I could maintain my

facade during the day, but at night when everyone was asleep, I would think

about Elijah and cry for hours. It was almost like 'ok, you're alone now,

you won't upset anyone by your crying now'. It was terrible. Eventually I

got so exhausted that now I can't wake in the mornings!

Perhaps you could try 'valerian' available from health food stores. It is

derived from the valerian (sp?) plant I think. It might help you drift off.

It's on the basis of the properties of this herb that started to make the

chemical alternative Valium, only this is pure herbal.

Hope you get some zzz's soon,

L-M

I know you have been through alot and with school and all it must be

extremely stressful. After your finals, are you taking any summer

classes? It is going to take time, allow yourself to get your

feelings out (that is what we are here for too) Maybe, you could take

something from your dr for alittle bit, there is nothing wrong with

that, maybe you should call him again. I wish I could say something

to take the pain away for you. It will get easier, but it is a slow

process, and everything is so new and rare for you. I hope you make

it through your finals, but don't be too hard on yourself. Take care.

AmyR,

Dr said he would prescribe me something if it's still bad in another couple

of weeks.

I love chamomille tea. I drink a cup of " Sleepytime Tea " every night and have

since I was a little girl. My mom brought it to me while I was in the

hospital after my ep!

I will have to check out these herbs I keep hearing about.

Thanks,

Carmen

,

I am taking 13 hours this summer!!! (that's a lot for a summer semester) The

reason is because I will graduate with my associate degree this summer and I

don't want to wait until fall. I've already waited too long to start college,

so now I just want to get it over with as quickly as possible. If it weren't

for graduating, I probably would have taken incompletes this semester, but

they wouldn't have cleared my grades in time.

My finals will be over on Tuesday and the worst one (accounting) I took

today. It ahs been stressful, but also a welcomed distraction.

Thanks for your encouragement.

-Maree,

I think I will try some of those herbs. I feel exactly the same way at night,

but I have to worry about hubby hearing because I want at least one of us to

sleep. I hope you're starting to feel better - I am. I wouldn't call it good,

but it's so much better. I think my hormones are starting to subside because

I've stopped breaking out and I'm not crying nearly as much.

Carmen- I hope you are able to get some rest soon. I am glad to hear

your body is getting back to normal some. If only rest of us could

heal as fast as the body does. Take care.

Carmen, Wow, 13 hours during a summer term!! I am impressed! I wish you lots of

luck. I know what you mean when you say you waited to long to go back to school.

I hear ya! I am going to be 32 in Oct. and I am working on my BA in Elem.

Education. I am glad you are almost done and I hope it does help keep you

distracted some, but go easy on yourself.
