Guest guest
The best thing would be if they either release more information about this process or test the ingredient or the fries. richard --- Marvin and Bjorge wrote: > They keep saying they have been removed but how???? > That is the question. > If it is just vinegar that is one thing but they do > not even say how it has > been removed. Guest guest
I would think it would just be easier for them to test their fries for gluten, and then decide. I don't know anything about wheat allergic people, other than it's the same part of wheat that causes allergies as contains gluten (the protein) so I would think if it tests "no gluten" then it would be ok for them too. Thoughts? Guest guest
I dunno...like I said, I'm well versed in gluten, but clueless with allergy. I bet they could figure it out fairly quickly, though, given all their resources! Here's hoping they do, I'd really like to know one way or the other. Preferably before I have to break it to my son.... ;-0 From: SillyYaks [mailto:SillyYaks ] On Behalf Of cyebelSent: Tuesday, February 14, 2006 10:58 AMTo: SillyYaks Subject: [bULK] Re: Re: AP Mcs Fries Article To my understanding, wheat can have more than just one type of protein...that gluten is one of them, but I could be wrong. I thought that people with a "true allergy" to wheat reacted to something different than the gluten.C
Guest guest
Mcs told me on the phone this morning that they are actively testing the fries for gluten and will be releasing their findings. An ELISA test shouldn't be hard for them to run. C

That said, a certain number of folks with anaphylactic wheat allergies and immediate reactions also react to a specific gluten protein (omega-5 gliadin, I believe). It was a relatively small study, but googling something like: omega gliadin wheat allergy will turn up the abtracts. ygg
