Guest guest
Right now with these labs I do not see a problem, but high cortisol blocks conversion of T4 to T3 so to get the proper activity form the thyroid you should take T3 only with high cortisol. But why not wait till you get your labs back to decide to do either? -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Since I stopped using them, I have been sleeping horrible. I can wait it out with the sleep problem. I just thought by what I have been reading that would be the answer. If I don't do Armour and I am only in stage one. How am I going to get better. I have been supporting my adrenals with supplements since sept 06. I did just start this sept with dr. wilson's, but I haven't improved my sleep this year. Except maybe my adrenals have gotten stronger. Any thoughts? She said it could just be the high cortsol that is lowering my T3? Any thoughts?

I had my cortisol Test done last Feb from Diagnostechs. At that time i had Higher than normal cortisol around 10:00 when I was to fall asleep and it rose too early in the morning. I feel that is still the same. I can't fall asleep and I wake up around 5:40 am. Too early for me. I tried PS supplements for months and that didn't help. I have to take 1/2 tab of unisome in order to sleep. aymptoms: cold hands and feet. I have been taking my temp, but not as consistant as I like. Probably averages 97.9. Hard time falling asleep and then wake in the morning around 2:00 and can't sleep. I still take a 1/2 unison and it isn't working like it should. I am tired, but seems only because I am not getting sufficient sleep. I feel my adrenals are doing good. I have started progesterone therapy from days 12-26. Last month was the first for that. I also take testosterone as that was low too. Will thyroid supplementation help me sleep and does my body need it? I have been doing supplements since Sept 06 Doesn't seem to have changed the cortisol, but we will see about that after I do the test on Nov 22. I guess I want to sleep and thought thyroid would help, but would you suggest waiting? No sleep will probably raise cortisol as it is stressful for the body. Any thoughts.? If your thyroid was only low from high cortiosl the T4 would be HIGH or at least much higher than it is, it also shows too low which just means you are hypo. High cortisll does NOT block thyroid production it blocks conversion of T4 to T3 leaving T4 too high and JUST T3 too low. With your T4 this low and T3 this high I DO suspect low cortiosl is dominating. I would try licorice root in the mornings to extend your own cortiosl in the daytime which should help lower the high night time cortiosl. Then take 500MG PS around 8 OM to help lower the night time cortiosl. I also feel you should be on thyroid but try the licorice and PS for a week before trying rea;lly low dose Armour such as 15MG to start with, -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Last Friday was my last day on my thyroid and I was on 3/4 of a grain for a month and had lowered it to 1/2 grain before I quit. I still have the same symptoms and seem like I needed more thyroid. I have done the licorice and PS, but could add these back in. Kami
