Well said...I've also given shots to friends and family (diabetic on my Mom,

fertility shotson a girlfriend to be exact), so you do not have to be a nurse

to do it--practicing on a grapefruit is a great way to learn.

Cancer makes one stress out--we all realize that, don't we?

Yup after reading my post this morning I was like WOW where did all that

anger come from? Trust me it has more to do with my own stress and faith

struggle.

Some days it takes every ounce of faith and hope you can muster to get

through this.

I didn't mean too blow up on all of you in general and Sara(???)

in particular.

One thing I truly appreciate about this board is it's lack of judgment.

The words I wrote last night are how I feel on my worst days when the cancer

gets the better of me and I need one of those

CANCER STINKS T-shirts! Most of the time I am much more upbeat

and while I know full well that the dreaded day may come I know just as well

that that day may not be here for a long time and worry not we haven't given

up. We intend to fight.

But as everyone has said so much better than I this is the place to cry cheer

and stamp our feet like a two year old when we need to and know that all

will understand

Sorry for my harsh words please forgive me

Narice

Thanks for your kind thoughts

Re: Bye for now

Relax, don't go anywhere, you did nothing at all wrong to suggest

that someone investigate whether a nurse from a church might be

available to give the injections. That's a valid option, and I'm

sure your intent was to propose a local church as an example of an

organization where a nurse might be found.

You don't need to apologize to anyone for that proposal. I'm not a

Christian, but rather an Orthodox Jew. I think there is entirely too

much effort being made to stifle religious expression. My feeling is

that we all should be free to practice our religions or not, and at

the same time not impose our views on others. I think its valid on a

cancer support board to have some posts that involve religion or

religious institutions as a support option, at least to a reasonable

degree.

So, why not check with a church, a synagogue, also a PTO, or any

other local organizations with which you may have some affiliation?

Years back, I had to give my wife injections for a few months. A

nurse at her doctor's gave me lessons on a grapefruit, and it was

easy. That would be my recommendation, get 10 minutes of training

from a medical professional.
