Guest guest
Roma, Holly – all of you: The problem I have with them telling you to bring virtually NOTHING with you to the hospital is that it seems like a stupendous double standard to me. On the one hand they flat out tell you that you can’t trust them with your valuables – no jewels, no wallet, no cell phone, no Swiss army knife – they can’t be responsible for that stuff – might all get lifted while you’re unconscious. They probably have people who can arrange to steal scarves and headphones and nightgowns too -- possibly even the clothes you intend to wear home. I mean the admissions people make the place sound like an absolute den of thieves. On the other hand, you’re supposed to trust them with your LIFE. I have a hard time trusting someone with my life who can’t be trusted with my cell phone and my credit cards. Makes me REAL nervous!!! _______________________________ Roma: I’m with you on the motto: “What good is fretting alone with your womb?” - it's great -- and the flower: Love Lies Bleeding - though I must admit the flower thing takes me back in my mind to the labia/flower/art thing – this probably really dates me BUT – about the BIRD – WHAT bird? I can't imagine - but I'm sure you can come up with something. Gimme a “B” ! _______________________________ As for the dentist: well, no thoughts about ovaries and basketballs this time – I did break out laughing at one point because I couldn’t help thinking that if the equivalent of Pompey were to occur while I was lying there, some archaeologist thousands of years from now could decipher it as a bizarre sacrificial ritual. Told the dentist that --(mumbled through cotton wads of course) she just laughed and said “and WE’D be sacrificing YOU.” – well, at least, she’s got a sense of humor – (which is more than I can say for the gynecologist – who never even cracks a smile – do they take “super-serious” lessons or what?). ______________________ Pat _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 with e-mail virus protection service: 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/virus
