Guest guest Posted March 7, 2001 Report Share Posted March 7, 2001 Hi all! I haven't written in a long time, but have been reading posts. Just wanted to update on Abigail's progress. She received the ABI vest in October, and since then, whether it be coincidence or the vest, she has not been sick this pre-school year. Last year she was sick in pre-school from October thru May. Kindergarden registration is next week, and I'm a little apprehensive about sending her. She sleeps 12 hours a night, and kindergarden is an all day event. When will there be time to do nebs, vest, meds, bath, and eating before she has to go to sleep?!? About CF mutations... We're expecting another baby in a couple of months. I had a CVS done and this baby is just a carrier. But...this is something that I never knew, there is a chance (1 in 375) that this baby could mutate a completely different gene and therefore have 2 CF genes and have CF. Has anyone heard of that? I'd be curious to know, since I've gotten conflicting answers from different docs.
