Guest guest
The message someone sent about the TV show that mentioned Asherman's (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/womanshour/19_11_01/wednesday/info4.shtm l) started me thinking... The web page about the show defines Asherman's as " an extremely rare complication of abortion. " My first thought was, that's wrong. Because almost everyone we know got Asherman's from a D & C for a miscarriage or retained placenta. But then I started to think, a woman who got Asherman's from a D & C to terminate a pregnancy might not feel comfortable saying so. When people join our board, they're required to send us their story, and I wonder if women who got Asherman's from an abortion simply don't join this board because of that? Or do they just keep silent about the cause of their Asherman's? Does anyone know what percentage of Asherman's cases are caused by abortion? And do we need to know this, for example for the study Dr. Palter is doing? Just some late-night thoughts... G.
