Guest guest
Welcome to the group. I'm sorry you had to go through surgery to " find " your fibroids. You mentioned the below in a previous post. >However, with the pain I experience on >almost a daily basis, I am looking for a reason to keep my uterus. I >have children and am not planning on having any more, so, I don't >really see the need in keeping something that will apparently >continue to cause me grief and discomfort Hysterectomy is certainly an option for you if that is what you want. Just make sure you are aware of the other treatments available to you and all the repercussions of having a hysterectomy. The main frustration for most of us is that hysterectomy is often presented as the ONLY option, when it is certainly not, it's just the easiest for the doctor. You've come to a great place in this group to learn. Again, welcome :-) Sheryl
Guest guest
Cricket283: You are not wimpy and you are not alone in your fibroid situation. As you will see here, many women have different experiences with their fibroids, but none of us are wimpy! When I was diagnosed last yr with fibroids, I was confused. I had never really heard of fibroids or their symptoms. I began reading, researching, etc to learn all I could. It helps to be educated about your health condition. You will learn a lot from this group of women. I have. Good luck to you.
Guest guest
Thank you. I feel like I have learned alot already just by reading through previous postings. My OB/GYN gave me a list of options and left the final decision up to me. We meet again on the 26th to discuss which route I plan to take. He didn't even want to talk hysterectomy because of my age (32) but said that it was an option and we discussed what it would entail. So, I am just getting as much info as I can, and am really glad that I found this site (from the article in RedBook). Thanks again.
Guest guest
I had never really heard about fibroids either. To my knowledge, no one in my family has had them (or at least had them and known about it). I'm just amazed that so many women have such huge fibroids or clusters of them. Right now, (or at last measurement) mine was 1cm shy of being the length of my uterus. My ob/gyn said it was like having a uterus on top of another one. I have been enlightened a great deal just by reading postings on this site. Thanks for responding. It's nice to have people to relate with. > Cricket283: > You are not wimpy and you are not alone in your fibroid situation. Guest guest
Good news is that I have ordered cynomel and other HC along with prednisone before I read that it was not especially good on the liver. I have taken 40 mg total of cortisol this morning and still can't feel too much happening. I took the pregnenalone/slow release HC which is 10 mg of the Hc, and 7.5 of the prednisone this morning. I will continue to supplement with the prednisone until my order for Hc comes in the mail. Thanks for your help. > > Your ratio is 12 and needs ot be at least 20 so youdo have an RT3 > problem, but more importantly oyu are being undertreated for your > adrenals. Guest guest
I can relate with this story. What is is Adrenatone made up of? Is this an adrenal extract? Good for you to trust in yourself and find out what is really wrong. Rhonda new to this I have a weird situation, I was diagnosed with anxiety/depression for 8 years when last april I had a rash and the doctor gave me 40 mg prednisone. I felt normal for the first time in years and saw myself the way I used to be with energy and emotions. I'm pretty sure I was also having a thyroid dump though as well, but I was too pumped to care because I had energy and my brain felt like it was "on" again. I researched and found cortisol and thyroid websites that led me to get tested for AF. I have and now have been tested and confirmed. My thyroid hormones were within range and I am on a plethora of pills from my doctor who's specialty is supposed to be AF. He has me on 10mg slow release cortisol in a.m. with 30 mg pregnenalone in a.m. I am taking an adrenal supplement called adrenatone plus 3x day. Some chrysine, vit d3 and other vitamins 2x a day. The regular cortef he has me dosing 2.5 mg in morning, 2.5 mg at noon, and if I need it 2.5 mg afternoon. I have been on this dosing for a little over 2 weeks with a very small improvement. My joints are feeling a bit better, but I'm not getting the emotions that I am expecting, I don't expect the intensity of the thyroid dump, but I feel if my thyroid hormones are activating then I should feel that as well. I'm wondering if my body is taking all the cortisol and putting it in reserve instead of using it right now because I'm just not feeling it like I think I should. I have taken up to four of the 5mg cortef's all at the same time and only feel a little tiny bit better for just a short while. Every oncee in a while I look around and can feel the brain fog lifting and everything looks sharper, but it doesn't last any more than a few minutes. I just want my brain back on, I miss my head. Here are my lab results, I thought the Rt3 dominance could be likely because I have low Ft3 for my age, and the rt3 was towards the top range. Before I had AF, eight years ago, I was described as the most energetic person amongst my peers, and have always been that way. I'm only 26 now, and would like to get all my energy back. Thanks for the help.:-)Ft3 2.9 pg/mL range 1.8-4.2Ft4 1.1 ng/dL range .46-1.42TSH 1.34 miU/mL .34-4.82Reverse T3 240 pg/mL 90-350I get a ratio of 1.2But I don't know whether this is high or low. Also I've been sitting on my butt doing nothing waiting to get better. Is lite exercise going to get my blood pumping and possibly pump some of the cortisol and hormones through my body or what? Guest guest
It can take several months ot find JUst the right dose of HC and even then you wil not feel poerfect until you get the other issues under control such as gettign thyroid stable. BUT slowly adjusting the dose is the best way to find JUST the right dose as 2.5 mgm too high or too low can cause problems. SO start by posting your PRE-HC saliva cortisol labs. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
