Guest guest
Mitch - I think I've heard these very words from you, addressed to others on this group who have been stuck at one time or another . . . . " Hang in there!!! " (smile) You're doing great...you've temporarily stopped in that place I've heard so many others describe. I'm sure those " others " will be able to offer better advice than I ever could. But I'll offer two things that helped me....... one, try upping your protein. (look at your journal and see if you've eaten more carbs than you might usually eat) and two, look at your journal and see if you're eating too many Smart Ones fudgsicles, or the like. You'll get past this, I KNOW you will!!!! Hang in there! I'm pulling for you!!! Bette
Guest guest
I would guess that your body is adjusting. Keep doing what you are doing and your body will respond accordingly. Maybe try a new exercise to " shock " the muscles a little. Actually, I've read that you can do the SAME exercises, but in a different order and the body will be shocked. You know, like instead of riding the exercise bike for 15 minutes before lifting weights... walk on the treadmill. Or do the weights in a different order. Start with your arms first and then work out your legs. I like this idea because I don't think that I am creative enough to find any other exercise that I will like. > Stuck > > > Just wanted to do a quick weight update here. > > At my last WW weigh-in (which was a week ago, Saturday, 11/8), > I was 193 even.... Don't know whether to up my eating, cut back, or just keep doing what I'm doing .... I'm a bit confused... Mitch I, too, am stuck, but staying on program. Last week I figured out the points if I were to do all 35 FLEX points with my target of 24, no FLEX with my target, the " old way " using 22-27 and banking a few, the " old way " with the minimum 22 and no banking, no FLEX or anything else. (I am currently doing 15-18 APs per week and I never use them.) To my horror, between what is actually my max allowed (target with all FLEX) and staying at the minimum of the old program, there is a difference of 49 points. Ack. I think I am choosing a happy medium...I am doing 22-27 and not banking or using FLEX or APs. Fortunately, hunger and snacks are not a problem--I never think of those. I guess I, too, am confused, right along with Mitch! But I WILL stay OP. I was hoping to add one more karate and one more swimming per week, but instead I whacked out my knee and have to stick to upper body at karate until Sports Med says it's okay to kick again. I am going to try a mile with the dog--if that works out without too much agony, I will throw in three days of walks. If I can't do it, well--I must learn to be patient. For me that is the hardest part--I want it all NOW! kay
Guest guest
Hi all, I'll join the STUCK group this month. I'm staying with it too and trying not to get discouraged, but it's slowed down somewhat and I'm frantic some days and calm other days. I am also using the old way and am in the 22-27 points range, but my problem is the low amount of exercise. I've lost 39 pounds since the end of April with little or no exercise and I know that's not right. I need to kick that back in by going back to the gym--I've had a Bally's membership for close to 16 years now and go off and on so I know what I need to do. GRRRRR, need a kick in the pants but my kids' Pop Warner season has come to an end this week so I can go at night now. Sometimes even when I'd exercise AND do the program perfectly the scale still would not move and it's so frustrating. I guess we all need to be here for each other and just wait it out until the scale decides to move downwards. As Shakespeare would say (paraphrased...), Oh, that this too too solid flesh would melt, right?? Re: Stuck >So, I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do - eating my AP's, using a moderate # of FP's. Do you like peanut butter? Oh my goodness, have I ever had a craving for peanut butter since I began WW. I have no idea why! But it's a source of protein, with controlled portions. If you like it, try it on your morning toast or bagel----melted, it's heavenly! Another source -- and a good quick snack for me, in place of a Smart Ones cone or something equally sweet/carbish, is to grab a measured portion of low-fat deli meat (a favorite of mine is honey-maple turkey at 2 oz/1.5 pts and/or a very thin slice of cheese. Amazingly, protein satisfies the hunger monster longer than the cone does anyway! Just my thoughts...hope it helps! Bette

I'll confess to a weak moment last week when my daughters' girl scout cookies came in for distribution .... my wife and I had bough a few boxes (can't disappoint the kid) ... and I attached the reduced-fat lemon cremes :-(. Had more then a few too many - kept going back to the closet. Then had a moment of the " heck, I'm stuck. I'm even slipping back to old behaviors. What's the use " kind of thinking. Then I kicked my own butt and got back on track.... As for protein, I don't eat enough .... mostly because with my wife being a vegetarian style cook she doesn't cook up meat or poultry. We do have fish several times a week and cheese/egg/soy protein dishes, but also lots of pastas... During the summer time, I BBQ a lot of meats for myself, so I get more protein in ... and I do tend to eat chicken or fish when I'm out or traveling on business... but I need to focus a bit more on getting protein in as well. > >You'll get past this, I KNOW you will!!!! Guest guest
Thanks for this . It's definitely been beneficial to adjust my treadmill routine the last couple of days - shortening the intervals & raising the speed and alternatively, fitting in more of an endurance routine seems to have helped move the scale. I think I will alternate my routines more oftern. I was doing this during the nice weather by alternating treadmill with bicycling, but with the colder weather ... I've been stuck more on the treadmill. I also really need to fit in a spinning or a kickboxing class.... Mitch in MN wrote: >I would guess that your body is adjusting.
