Total Parenteral Nutrition (T.P.N.)

Hello everyone,

Has anyone had to have Total Parenteral Nutrition (T.P.N.)? I am 1

year post op and 30 weeks pregnant. I've only gained 6 pounds total

through my pregnancy. I saw the OB-nurse, Nutrition & Surgeon on

Friday and the baby is only in the 17 percentile. Last month she was

in the 50th percentile. She only gained 6oz, this means she's really

small. I'm going back next week for another ultrasound and to talk

with the OB Doctor & nutrition more. The OB Nurse talked with my

surgeon and he suggested TPN. Has anyone had to have this or know

anything about it? All they really told me was it's Nutrition through

an IV I keep in me all the time.
